Will This Bracket Work? Ax15
AeroNautical replied to AeroNautical's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That looks very similar to this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-Wrangler-YJ-1987-1995-AX-15-AX15-TRANSMISSION-MOUNT-no-defects-/130920373737?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_100&hash=item1e7b765de9&vxp=mtr I almost think the seller on ebay labeled it wrong. -
Will This Bracket Work? Ax15

Part 25 is exactly what I need. Are there any transmission that use that part other than the ax15? CRF136N: if it's not too much trouble, I'd love to take a look at how you did the conversion. The cross member isn't an issue, I'm just using the one my pukey uses, but with a 3/4inch t-case drop. -
Will This Bracket Work? Ax15

Alright, this is confusing the hell out of me. This is probably something so straight forward, but I'm just not getting. Went to the jy today and looked at some aw4 trannys. This is what I found: On the aw4: The bottom of my ax15: The bracket I was told to look for: It looks like this would work: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-Wrangler-YJ-1987-1995-AX-15-AX15-TRANSMISSION-MOUNT-no-defects-/130920373737?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_100&hash=item1e7b765de9&vxp=mtr I encourage you guys to be harsh, but I've been told so much contradicting information that I NEED a straight answer. -

So, everything except the cross member works? Outstanding, I appreciate the help. -
I've googled the hell out of this. Someone told me it might work, but I need a definite answer. Will the mounting bracket from an AW4 tranny work with an ax15? I know the cross member won't, but the brackets do look very similar. I have this and a driveshaft needed for my pukey to ax15 swap, so I'm a bit anxious to find these parts, haha.

That is a NICE cherokee. Brothers got a spotless red 99 and it doesn't look as clean as that. -

I saw you when you passed through Roanoke but I was in my XJ. Nice MJ! There are a few around but most need a lot of work Really? I saw alot of XJs, some really nice and a couple built up. I was hauling my ax15 home for that drive from fisherville. You probably saw the little shifter stick popping up from my tailgate, haha. -
See that green plug at the rear of the valve cover, above the firewall to the right? That's the MAP sensor.

AeroNautical replied to xjtrailrider's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
That is a nice truck. I just drove through Roanoke, and knowing alot of members live there, didn't see a single manche. Other than my own, of course. Was mildly disappointed. Edit: Yes, that price is outrageous. I've seen completely decked out rigs that are just as clean go for about 8000. -
There is a wealth of information in this: http://comancheclub.com/topic/38612-very-high-idle/ Best of luck
-
I've had no luck at junkyards, ebay or craigslist. Hard to find, that's for sure. Anybody have one they're willing to part with? And, you know, if it happened to come with a cross member... I'll take that off your hands, too. Zip: 29707

How Many Times Has This Happened To You ? "that's A Jeep" ???
AeroNautical replied to '87 fuel-miser's topic in The Pub
I've gotten that before. To some people, the only jeeps are the wranglers, libertys, patriots and compass. Bull effin sheet... I promptly put them in their place. -
Seat Back Tilt Mechanism
AeroNautical replied to Alexia's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Pretty sure he means this: It tilts upward to move the seat back and forth. -
My 97 TJ 2.5 has an ax5, so it wouldn't surprise me if randomguy is right on the money at 99.
-
Almost bought one of these, interesting how Jeep allowed their name to be used, but didn't bother thinking of a new model name.

I had a strange occurrence, an older lady, probably in her 60s, driving a red mini van went out of her way to wave at me. I get alot of waves like that, from all kinds of vehicles. I really doubt it's because I'm driving an MJ, it's more because of my paint job and bumper sticker placements I'm sure, haha.
-
Still wish I could have gone to that.. Someone beat me to the aircraft picture, but this is my bird and background: Just a tad bit more expensive than my MJ

With 3.07 gears? Yeah start in second if you really enjoy replacing clutches. First gear is there for a reason. Use it. Especially with 3.07 gears. Easy, I didn't recommend it, I just said it would do it on flat ground and no load.
-
That's funny, I was just talking to my brother today about how worthless first gear is without a load. You can start in second, the 4.0 is more than capable of it, as long as your not on a hill. Honestly, I think first gear is really reserved for towing and heavy loads, just to get you going.

Is he looking for a stock console? I have an aftermarket, but I could look next time I get to a JY for a stock console if that's what he wants.
-
Holy crap that's awesome, congratulations. That mud splatter on the cake is brilliant.
-
I have, and if you want to save a few bucks go to a JY and remove them from an earlier Grand Cherokee. If I remember they are thicker, but still fit MJ doors. A cheap upgrade. As for the windows, pull em from an early XJ or MJ, or head over to http://teamcherokee.com/weatherstrip/ Reminder, if you take the door panel off, make sure you have spare door lock clips. They break very easily and are a real headache if you don't have spares.

Wtb Ax15 Crossmember And Tc Shift Linkage Near Western Nc
AeroNautical replied to oldseddie's topic in Wanted
It's very hard to find an AX15 cross member. Instead you can use a 3/4 inch Transfer case lowering kit and use the cross member you already have. Lowering kits are cheap enough, about $20 to $30. I go to jys often, if you'd like I'll keep an eye out for that shifting linkage. Where is NC are you?
