  1. Just got mine in from Jeff, immediately noticed a difference. First and second seem peppier, more power for less throttle. Very nice, worth the upgrade for sure.
  2. Not mine or related, but this is one of the best kids costume I've ever seen:
  3. An error to allow a triple got that crowd riled up, shame it was ended by a pop up. Great game, and series. I mean serious.
  4. Shame, still a nice thing, though.
  5. wwwwait a minute, this is a bit different than what I've got. I may be confused, but this is what I have: Lists and explains factory options with awesome illustrations.
  6. They did, and I have one, for the 88 year range. When my friend bought his MJ, the owner gave it to him, really good shape and awesome illustrations. I can just imagine sitting down at the jeep dealer, perusing through it and letting the salesman know.. I want it all...
  7. It does take a little modding, I had to remove the heat box that directs heat to the foot wells, but that can be avoided with a little trimming on the console itself. I haven't yet found a 97+ shifter boot, but there isn't much in my truck for looks anyway, I'm not too worried about it, haha.
  8. Do this: 97+ XJ center console, I'm so happy with it. 2 cup holders, nice 4wd shifter window, decently sized cubby and the option of putting a hand brake in it.
  9. I was more fishing for information on wether or not a plate has to legally be displayed when hauling something like a trailer or carrier. I've seen plenty of trailers without plates, and the vehicles plate hidden like mine. I suppose a google search would answer my questions, though.
  10. I'm not actually worried about clearance, won't be wheeling with it attached, and I doubt I'll be coming across any steeply inclined driveways. I did put some trailer lights on the steel post so I've got the full range of lights, but the plate is still covered. You guys think it will really be a problem?
  11. Did the vehicle you pulled the cluster out of also have a 4.0? If not, the tach needs to be adjusted. There is a write up somewhere around here on how to do it, I'll try and find it.
  12. Yeah, there are definitely some hitches (no pun intended) with it. License plate is blocked, lights are blocked, but above all importance, the Jeep tailgate is blocked!!
  13. Oh yes, indeed. And that is a nice Ghia, brother bought his blue, but painted it that exact red. Air cooled engines are always easier to work on, aren't they? haha
  14. I've got a tool box on my short bed. Awesome thing, I use it all the time. Only down side is it eats up a good chunk of my bed space. I've got a bike I need to move often. Remedy? This bike carrier from harbor freight. I've seen some surprisingly high ratings for this thing, and many others. Never seen one before, but works like a charm. Connects to your 2 inch receiver, carrier supports up to a 400 LB bike. It's got a removable ramp and plenty of tie down points. I put a tail light so it doesn't cover my brake lights entirely, not sure about the license plate though. Won't worry about it until a cop pulls me over I guess, haha.
  15. Awesome, welcome to the addiction my friend. My brother had a 71 Karmann Ghia he just sold not a year ago. Didn't want to, kinda had to. I'd love to see pictures of it! Also, where at in NC? I'm near Charlotte, and many other members are scattered around the state. Gotta see some pictures of the truck, too
  16. It was around $2.60 in Rock Hill, SC last time I went. Not bad, considering 2 months ago is was about a dollar more than that.
  17. Yeah, at 3 inches your pushing what the stock track bar can handle. Most adjustable track bars have a pretty wide range of lifts it can accommodate. Good brands include Rubicon express, Rustys off road, iron rock off road, JKS to name a few. I've had a bad experience with Rough Country track bars, don't even bother. Edit: Shawn beat me to it.. too quick for me man
  18. Wow, that's a pretty extensive thread. Read through it all, but was confused as to what actually solved your problem. Sounded like alot of trial and error going on. Thanks for that link, learned something.
  19. I am, TPS is outputting a good voltage and set perfectly. I did tip 5 today, didn't see that last time I looked over your notes. So far so good, but like I said before it was a rare no start. Tip 14 has been done, it does idle really nicely when it's warm with a small hunt. Think I got a dead o2?
  20. What rear axle do you have? Any lift? Let us know this and we can get you an exact measurement for the driveline shop. I got mine cut, new u joints installed (I supplied) and balanced/cleaned and painted for $60, with a higher spline yoke installed as well. Very reasonable.
  21. Driveshaft, or axle? Title and post say two different things, haha. If you do need the driveshaft, you can have your 2wd shaft cut down. Easier than trying to find a 4wd MJ driveshaft. If it is the axle your looking for, what kind? Dana 35, Chrysler 8.25, Dana 44?
  22. That's new too, but doesn't usually cause these issues. Glad to hear I'm not alone on this one. I even did the timing advance and moved the CPS closer to the flywheel to get a higher output, which is does get whenever I test it.
  23. The answer to all three, in a perfect world, would be CPS, O2 sensor and TPS. All of which are new, sometimes twice over. It's not these sensors. Grounds are refreshed and improved per Cruisers tips. C101 eliminated. The no starts are usually after it's been running, shut off, and started within a few minutes after. It's rare, but happens. Sometimes, either cold or warm, the engine starts at 3000 RPM and gets higher, sometimes correcting itself, other times just keeps climbing. Also rare. And the last problem is a hunting idle. Cold, it idles about 800 RPM, and just drops to 200 for a few seconds, especially when a load is applied like power steering. It has quit before because of this. When warm, the hunting is minimal, only about a 1 or 200 RPM difference. Does that mean it is switching to closed loop? Vacuum lines are also new. So, if it's not the sensors or grounds, what am I missing? Or am I really THAT unlucky to get 3 DOA TPS', 2 DOA CPS', and a DOA O2? I hate throwing money into sensors, it's a waste of time and patience that could be put into finding the actual problem.
  24. I believe, since the Dana 30s used in both the TJ and MJ are pretty much identical, except for the high/low pinion, the lift should be the same between the two. Because the TJ had coils in the front and rear, I don't know if the rears would translate the same lift as the front. Obviously the MJ has leafs in the back, I'm not sure, if they are rear coils, if they would work in the front.
  25. Yessir, but years do make a difference I believe. I don't think an 88 caliper will fit on a 99 Dana 30.
