  1. Had my eye on those for a while myself. Just waiting on funds to accumulate before I can get one
  2. An option for a rear driveshaft I found is to grab one from a 4 door 2wd XJ. IIRC it is only an inch shorter than the standard 4wd swb driveshaft.
  3. Not really. About the same weight. Yes they are able to be clocked in different locations depending on how much clearance you might need.
  4. I got one a few years back for my Cherokee and then when I sold that I transfered it to my Comanche. Been running strong for 6+ years now without an issue even with accidently forgetting to disconnect the battery before removing the starter.
  5. The 249 in 97 and 98 Grands has a locking viscous coupler, that locks the front and rear together in 4 low. The viscous coupling goes bad after a time and is VERY expensive to replace. That is why a lot of 249s get replaced with a 242 when (not if) it goes bad. That was the case with my Grand Cherokee and why I have a 249 now sitting in my garage with nothing to do
  6. The 249 in 97 and 98 Grands has a locking viscous coupler, that locks the front and rear together in 4 low. Did not know that. Still a very expensive part to replace.
  7. For now I just changed out the bulbs to LED in mine because I like the look of the stock lights. I did find a thread on cherokeeforum.com for converting the old thermal style flasher to the new electronic style flasher. http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/5-prong-relay-style-led-flasher-conversion-135220/
  8. Just had the same problem. The parts stores will give you a second option for a bearing with a collar around it. I needed that to hold the new bearing in the end of the crank. I got mine at O'Reilly PN FC-69907
  9. That or use the np249 out of the full time Grand Cherokees. Only downside to those is you don't get a true 4low because of the viscous coupling, which is also the most common and most expensive failure part in them (which is why it's not in my GC anymore)
  10. I have a Dana 44 rear axle with about 5" of lift
  11. Sorry I must have been half asleep while typing. I am in need of the driveshaft not the axle. It is going into my 4.0 Renix with AX-15 and NP231.
  12. I have a bench seat frame in decent condition that would need to be recovered that you can have
  13. Converting my 2wd SWB to 4wd and in need of a rear axle. Located in Southern Cali and am willing to pick up if not too far away. Thanks
  14. I have the Nates rear bumper on my truck but I haven't had a chance to test it out yet. Had the matching set on my old Cherokee from Nates and they held up to everything I threw at them which included a fullsize Chevy diesel and numerous Toyotas and Jeeps.
  15. I ran Nate's front and rear bumper w/tire carrier for years on my Cherokee. They stood up to everything I ran them into. Now that I have my Comanche I picked up his rear bumper. Very well made. He is also open to adapting his current products to your specs. I had asked about adding a tire carrier to the rear bumper and he went as far as putting together a pic of what it could look like. Need to ask now about some SWB sliders.
