  1. Rocker panels and cab corners were perfect. No dents and no rust as its been in CA it's whole life.
  2. LB, 2wd, 4.0L, AW4 166K...I was out looking at and pulling parts on this truck yesterday. I know it inside and out. PM me if you want details on something specific then I can pass along the owners mobile#. http://visalia.craigslist.org/pts/5760931972.html
  3. You can use the original door and regulator with the new glass. Need to make a 6x2 adapter plate to mount the window to the original regulator. I've done it.
  4. Probably 1986 vintage AMC accessory catalog purchase. If I had a long bed... http://atlanta.craigslist.org/antidisestablishmentarianism/pts/5585513347.html
  5. Like Don said, part of the factory alarm. Was implemented 91+ xj's. I have one installed on all my jeeps tied into my aftermarket DEI alarm system as a trigger for the hood, similar to the factory set up but without issues.
  6. Trucks with AC will have under dash boxes on the evaporator core side that are the same. Non AC equipped trucks have slightly different boxes on the right side. Heater core boxes are the same in both AC and non-AC equipped vehicles.
  7. A 2-door xj door or door panel will not fit the MJ. An xj 4-door door/ panel will.
  8. Make sure your exterior sheet metal lines up. Door to b-pillar and door to fender. My passenger door was not lined up and I noticed it with the new seals. If you loosen the hinge bolts at the door you can make an adjustment/ line the panels up. Once I did this my passenger door closed properly.
  9. The visual difference between the photo of the red 95 xj and my 92 MJ is I'm running 97+ xj door seals. That little a-pillar seal just tucks further under the 97+ xj door seals.
  10. I added these seals to my 92 when I got it. I didn't pay attention to the wind noise before or after. But I can tell you my 95 xj that had these had less wind noise then my 89.
  11. I'm running the Novak kit. Apparently I was the first MJ to install the kit. A bracket on the other side of the trans tunnel wasn't shaped right for the MJ. "Ears" of the bracket were off. They sent me two correctly shaped brackets based on my feedback and life was good. Apparently if you specify you've got an MJ you'll get the right bracket now. It wasn't a quick install but it is a quality kit. Smooth shifting and no issues. I'll be running it on my '89 as well.
  12. 42.25" is what is listed in the DIY section, thanks. Don- I'm getting a new shaft made via Tom Woods.
  13. 92 MJ 4.0L, AX15, NP231, dana 44...just installed. Truck is factory height. Anyone running the same configuration? Need to measure for a driveshaft and wondering what measurement others ended up with. Thanks.
  14. I know. That's why I didn't pull it. :)
  15. I was at the San Jose South Pick n Pull today and there's an 89 MJ with a perfectly straight rear bumper. The bumper is black, end caps are shot. Some one who needs it should grab it.
  16. I'll take 2 sets. Thanks.
  17. What is the hurst part number for that transfer case shifter? Any idea if it will work with the factory console?
  18. I'm converting my 89 renix MJ to a 91 h.o MJ (wiring). I have stripped down all the wiring and know it well. I can tell you for the h.o year MJ's there were no provisions for Np242 'full time' light wiring. Your MJ was never offered with that t-case option, so fairly confident the renix year MJ's would be the same - lacking the 'full time' light wiring. You will need to remove the 2 wires/ pins at the 'full time' dash light of your donor and trace/ remove them from where they terminate and install them in the same fashion as part of your MJ dash harness. I recognize the vacuum actuated/ electric differences between the renix and h.o years and can say with confidence your MJ dash harness will not have those wires to the cluster light. It was easy to do, but I've got all my wiring out of the truck and on the ground.
  19. There was a rollbar specific accessory kit AMC had. The part# was 82200449. I have it. Included in the kit is wiring, dash switch plate, relay, etc and a set of Marchal 759 Driving lights. I even have a scanned copy of the installation sheet I can post if anyone is interested.
  20. '89 MJ Long Bed Pioneer edition 4x4 column AT. Good shape. Draw-Tite hitch, full skid plate package (including rare long bed fuel tank skid). Bedliner. Glasstite camper shell.
  21. Heater boxes ARE different with and without AC. I physically compared them side by side when I removed my NON-AC box and the non-AC box has a block-off wherer the AC box has vent holes. this was on an '89 MJ.
  22. '86 MJ w/ that stripe and trim pkg did have the black paint along the bottom.100% factory.
  23. I've got a mean green 200amp alternator that has about 7,000 miles on it. Like new. Paid $400 for it, part# MG1334. Will sell it for $175 shipped. No issues, just converting from Renix to HO on my '89 MJ.
  24. You will never get that done right in 10 hrs. I recently converted my truck to 4wd. Don't rush it. There will be some connector issues but there are work arounds. You're truck uses vacuum for the dash light trigger, newer is elec. The transfer case switch is vacuum vs elec. Handful of other things. Again, parts can be modified to work - it just takes time. Give yourself 2 days at a minimum and that would be considered rushing in my book.
