  1. My God, don't sell it Bo! Next move? Where's the next move to? Coming back to SoCal?
  2. Wheeled it on the Rubicon Trail this weekend. It performed very well. It's nice having that extra foot of wheelbase over my old XJs. Got a couple of minor scratches. No big deal. ;)
  3. I have a spare handle that you can have. But it's chrome. Pay the shipping and it's yours.
  4. Hey, I'll be seeing Eric on Thursday. We're running the Rubicon Trail.
  5. I used to run a Yellow Top. But my buddy fried it when he used it to do some trail side welding on the Rubicon Trail. :( Switched to a Red Top that worked great for a couple of years. Then I installed a York OBA system, which required me to move the battery to the other side of the engine compartment. I also had to mount the battery on its side to clear the hood which, according to Optima, is perfectly fine. Well, whatever they use, gel or not, started to leak out slowly. I yanked it out and replaced it with an Odyssey 1200, which I got for $50 (special deal). I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Optima in the future. I just wouldn't mount it on its side. ;)
  6. JCR Offroad has a couple different designs. http://www.jcroffroad.com/Merchant2/mer ... y_Code=MJS My buddy made me some that are similar to the Stage 2 ones.
  7. Yeah, between the 'Con, Calico, and JV, Curt's MJ has taken a hammering. Rock rails would have prevented a lot of the damage. :ack: To keep my build thread on track... I just picked up two perfect 2000 XJ doors, silver in color. The 97 doors I have on the MJ now are a little tweaked and would require some body work before painting. These new doors are ready to go. But I'll wait until I get back from the Rubicon trip to put the new doors on. As a matter of fact, I should probably put my beat-up, dented tailgate back on just for this trip.
  8. Thats Spencer's site. I thought so, but wasn't sure.
  9. http://jeepsticker.com/mj.htm has a few, but not the body graphics.
  10. Curt has a perfectly good spare 89 shortbed MJ (with no engine) in his garage. Sometimes he talks about swapping everything over to the good truck. But then he figures he'll just drive the longbed until it is absolutely trashed. Most people would say that it is ALREADY trashed. :D But it keeps on ticking.
  11. Nope, I have the Explorer disc brakes on a Dana 44. Ren - Did you keep the Crown Vic orientation? One leading caliper and one trailing caliper. Or did you switch to two trailing calipers?
  12. The "incident" was in June 2006. I did the trail again last year in the 2-door XJ with no problems whatsoever. So I've done the trail in 2004, 2006, and 2008. Usually every two years. But this year, a different group of people wanted to go and asked me to put it together. It'll be interesting to see how the MJ does. Curt is also going again in his beatup longbed MJ.
  13. Scott, I have a 97+ XJ electric fan that you can have for a good price. It has the 10 curved blades, which pulls more air than the earlier fans.
  14. I have the WJ booster and master with Explorer rear discs. And it does make a huge difference. No mods were needed on the booster rod to fit on my 92. They used two different setups. Mine was the same as later XJs with the newfangled retaining clip.
  15. I have a Renix A/C delete pulley and bracket available. $30 shipped. It probably needs a new bearing, but they cost about $3 at any parts store. I find these in the junkyards every now and then. 90% of them have been for 87-90 Renix engines. I've only ever seen one that was for an HO.
  16. I used XJ main leafs with the eyes cut off to gain two inches. You can use full size chevy drop shackles to gain lift too. Do a search...I don't remember the exact year and model truck that these shackles are found.
  17. For drum brakes - two passenger side YJ cables For disc brakes - two KJ cables
  18. :waving:
  19. Yes, in theory. ;) The best way is to cut the old perches off. Put the axle under the Jeep and set the pinion angle where it should be. Tack the perches in place. Then remove the axle to finish welding.
  20. LOL. But you're still right 99.99% of the time.
  21. Seat pedestals changed in 1995.
  22. You're just one year off. :) 97+ doors have the different strikers and latches. I put 97+ doors on my old 96 XJ and on my current 92 MJ.
  23. Nope. 96 XJs have the same striker/latch as the earlier models.
  24. I've never named any of my vehicles before. Last year when I got the MJ, the PO had named it Marvin. The truck had Marvin the Martian seat covers, floor mats, and key chain. I stopped at the first opportunity and threw all that junk in the trash. But word of the truck's name leaked out to the NAXJA SoCal Chapter. Now everybody calls the truck Marvin. I resisted calling the truck Marvin as long as I could. But I finally caved in and now call it Marvin. BTW, I picked the truck up in Vegas on May 17, 2008. So Happy Belated Anniversay Marvin!
  25. I did have a 2" BB and 245/75/16 tires (about 30.7") with no trimming and no rubbing.
