  1. Take a turkey baster and change the fluid in the master cyl several times ovr the next few days or weeks will clean it up , don't let your fluid sit around open though it draws moisture and causes rust if any metal in the system.
  2. Is this the 4 cylinder by chance ? If so hole in a piston which they are famous for . When you remove oil cap is it white and foamy looking ? If so plan on a rebuild won't have alot of life left.
  3. Brandon won't make that much difference on the rear, huge improvement on the front though but that doesn't apply here . If you are looking to improve ride remove the second leaf from your spring pack.
  4. If you want to upgrade the ebc brakes with their rotors are a huge improvement over the stock brakes , the hotter they get the better they work .
  5. Could just be the 4.0 piston slap does it go away with just a little bit of rpm added to the engine? If it does it is just piston skirt slapping not really anything to worry about for a long time. If your engine is not to dirty check to see if you can see the cylinder rating on the side of block should be in white or yellow metal marker a thru d a being the best d worst . They started grading them after they replaced a lot of motors due to piston slap. There would be a miss in the exhaust note if u burnt a valve . It could be a weak lifter add a quart of trans fluid to crankcase take for a short drive around town then change your oil .
  6. Is anyone running 10 " wheels if so what back spacing are you running?
  7. Give it a good dose of seafoam , then check for vacum leaks clean and or check egr.

  9. McClare I have a new set of 3" rear springs , I mean never been under an xj bought them for a different project which I sold . I also have new set of 3.5 " coils I will part with them for a good price if your interested let me know . Like you said though if you have yours rearched they will just return to normal shortly , airshocks ok but rough on lower mounts .
  10. If you really want abs buy something with it , abs on something you use wheeling will get you hurt . If you start sliding down a hill backwards abs does not know which way you are going hold on cause it is going too get fun .
  11. I would like too add cruise control to my 91 which years will fit . Also does the factory harness have all the proper connections (plug and play ) ?
  12. Not sure what you want to spend but a reman at advanced auto is only 140.00 with your old one . Junk yard you might end up with the same problem. Just something to think about.
  13. I can't ever get the pics to post right for some reason , the site is astrucks.com . There is no gasket for the aftermarket it has to be glued in like you winshield . They are a nice piece though frame all black dark tint it is the cr laurence window.
  14. A -Z truck supply 125.00 delivered to the door for the 4 panel . I don't know where some people buy their stuff but they need to start looking around . Oh by the way that is for the dark tint .
  15. A -Z truck supply 125.00 delivered to the door for the 4 panel . I don't know where some people buy their stuff but they need to start looking around . Oh by the way that is for the dark tint .
  16. Did the oil have a sweet kind of smell to it ? If so it might be hurricane oil it will not smoke like dino oil it is used in racing applications . Someone my be trying to hide a smoking problem .
  17. It may be in you ignition switch , mine is a 91 and it will do the same if I have the switch slightly frt of back when I pull the key .
  18. If it is coming thru the door for sure and it not coming in due to a bad seal, open your door stand on the inside pull window frame ( carefully towards you ) bending in a little bit . The best way to check is take a dollar bill put it over the seal close door on it to see if it fitting tight or not then do the bending after you see if it is loose . If it is coming around the windshield have glass Co. cut it out make sure there are no holes other than the 2 drain holes in the bottom corners , may have pin holes rusting around bottom of windshield in the recess . Don 't use silicon around your windshield it will also hold water in and make problem worse . Good luck
  19. Can you weld , if so cut a piece of metal that will just go thru the hole hold it in place with a magnet tack it in place . When all done clean up weld prime and paint .
  20. CR laurance ,,,, you can still get the manual 4 panel from a-z truck supply in Arizona . I just had 1 delivered to the door for 125.00 total .
  21. Well then after that let me take the time to issue my deepest apology , I still don't understand way you would point someone to the pinion angle when you didn't mention it ? If you are over 100k most logical place to start is bushing . I know ford still buys trucks back too this day due to wobble they can not explain . There are many factors to take into consideration he asked for the best place to start basicaly , So instead of all these treads leading a guy in 9000 different directions how about he gets pointed in the best place to start and go from there . Eagle I really mean no harm at , I know the first time I had it , I had spent well over a grand till I solved it , I hate to see someone else do the same . The reason I came to my answer is from his other posts he is working on MJ so it has got to be at least 16 years old. BY the way my computer chair has 6 wheels no tracks.
  22. Well I guess you should read links as I do then . They surely are not related to rave reviews . NO BASH NO BADMOUTH NO LINK THEN just my little ol opion . sorry if I hurt somebodys little feelings .
  23. I suppose I better clarify pinion angle statement or someone will mis the point . As you lift pinion angle on frt driveshaft goes down on our type of application,,,,the angle at which the pinion sits increases ( but you can mount an axle upside down it has to do with the relationship pinion to driveshaft is pinion angle ) This is why your rear axle pinion angle must be corrected with shims in some case because it doesn't have a built in caster ( some tj s have the adjustment bolts in theirs lower control s )
  24. Well Brent then you understand what you are saying then is that by decreasing pinion angle (which is what you do when lifting frt axle ,pinion angle on frt side go down and increases slighty on cv joint side which has no affect on it ) Why get away from the question he posted have it lined up if still DW move to lower control arm bushing . As a parts employee at dealership you can tell him this is a common problem that 12.00 a piece can solve . He states he only went 1 3/4 in puck correct ? Chances are it is a bushing issue ,,,,,1.75 lift does not change caster that much at that lift. That is all that I am saying
