I went ahead an picked up another Flowmaster and pieced the exhaust together. I tucked the catalytic converter and muffler up under the bed. I painted it with some VHT high temperate ceramic spray paint. I still need to install everything to cure the paint. Willy

That is quite possible. But, I would also think it is just as possible that Jeep could have installed that on all vehicles and only connected it to those with automatics. Willy

Looks like the transmission to ignition safety lock. I can't remember for sure how it works - only allows shifting out of park if the ignition is in the on position or maybe only allows the key to turn if the transmission is in park or neutral...something like that. :hmm: Willy

What goal are you trying to accomplish? If you just want to level it remove the spacers from the front or get shorter ones. Willy

Try a search on NAXJA. There were several detailed build threads for these bumpers as well as his vendor thread. I'm sure you'll find something there if he is still making them. There was also at least one other guy making a similar assembly required bumper. I don't remember the name off the top of my head, but I think you should be able to find it in one of the Iron Scorpion threads. Willy

That's not a great picture to compare to. He is missing the shackles which forces the spring to have more arch just to bolt it in. Willy

What are you trying to do? Make room for larger tires? A spring over with an AAL should be plenty for 35s. Willy

Check your transmission fuse. Check for power to the switch. If the light is not coming on and there is no power to the switch the transmission fuse may be blown. Willy -
Yes, you do need shackles. The shackles were probably robbed from your MJs to use as XJ lift shackles just before you received them. I don't see how the sheet metal hangers of an MJ would hold up to any driving without shackles. Yes, F350s have shackles. They are set up with a shackle reversal from the factory. Willy

Any interest in making one of the infinite lift threads a sticky in the tech section? It almost seems daily that somebody creates a "What do I need to lift my XJ * inches?" thread. Since searching is too much work for most users maybe a sticky will catch the attention of a few of them. Willy

Yes, the D300 shares the same round bolt pattern as the NP transfer cases. You do realize the D300 has a passenger side front output? Unless you flip it or swap in a matching front axle it will not work in an MJ. Willy

What is your front suspension set up? Your first post mentions three link so I assumed the picture with your upper control arm was mounted in the stock location on the axle side. But in your album it looks like there is an XJ with an upper wishbone front suspension. Is this your XJ? I would like to see more pictures of this, especially of the separation of the upper and lower mounting points on the axle. If you are running an upper wishbone I am pretty sure I know what is going on. When you cycle the suspension compress the passenger side and let the driver side droop. Now look at your pinion angle. I would just about guarantee it will rotate down a lot. The combination of the short upper wishbone and the fact that it is mounted to the center of the axle is allowing this. If this is true you really need to redesign your front suspension. It won't matter how much money you throw at a fancy driveshaft it will all be wasted unless you correct this. Willy

It is half a long arm kit. Suspension systems that use long lower arms with short upper arms are a crappy design. In my opinion they should be left to the mall crawlers. I'm sure it does great on the street. If it actually hit some trails that forced the suspension to travel more than a speed bump I'm sure it would have problems too. Before you spend the money on an expensive driveshaft why don't you spend a little time to determine what is actually causing your problem? Put your existing driveshaft on and cycle the suspension. Use an RTI ramp, stacked tires, a forklift, etc. Then get out and look at where your driveshaft is binding and what is going on with your suspension. Once you figure out what the problem is then you can determine what you need to do to fix it instead of throwing a bunch of expensive parts at it that doesn't fix it. Willy

I hear all sorts of things. Most of the things I hear are testimonials to how stupid the person I hear them from really is. If this were true, why don't you feel the u-joints when driving a 242 in the full-time position? :agree: If you want to keep the CV shafts, just swap them over. Spline count, length, etc. should all be the same. Willy
