  1. I love when Land Rover guys claim they would never own a Jeep because of "overheating problems"... You know, because LRs have superior cooling systems capable of cooling the sun... Believe me, your hatred of LRs is very mutual over here.
  2. Pretty much. Tightening the nut pulls down and secures the wheel. Good to go.
  3. Also, I have an '88 XJ, so CEL is not a problem lol.
  4. Well, I was actually researching this for my XJ if my auto ever takes a dump on me. But, I am thinking about doing a 4.0 & AX15 swap in my '86 MJ to replace the 2.5 & AX4. I've been searching craigslist everyday for a '94 - '96 AX15. I found one tonight that is from a '96 XJ and he claims it worked fine when it was pulled. No mention of mileage and doesn't have the bellhousing. Wants $300 for it... Is that reasonable?
  5. I have a quick question that I'm sure one of you gurus can help me with. I've been doing a little research on the AW4 to AX15 swap and I've seen where you can trick the AW4's TCM to bypass the NSS to allow it to start by jumping a couple of the pins in the harness. I was wondering though, would it be possible to wire in a clutch safety switch into that so that it can only be started when the clutch pedal is depressed? It sounds good in theory, just wondering if any of y'all have had success or know anyone who has done it that way.
  6. I feel like there has been several politicians that have had beef with the Jeep brand. IIRC, there was some guy in the house that wanted to ban CJs and Wranglers as they are prone to roll overs due to their high center of gravity. Pretty sure that there are quite a few makes and models besides Jeep that have that issue, *cough* Land Rover *cough*. You can always count on a politician to find some BS to b*@$£ about instead of finding solutions to important problems.
  7. Funny, they didn't mention XJ's in there anywhere, yet the same "problem" exists in those models too.
  8. Glad you got it fixed man. DW can be a b*tch.
  9. I got mine from Dirtbound Offroad, which looks like IRO's kit, which probably looks like all the others. http://www.dirtboundoffroad.com/featured/slip-yoke-eliminator-hd-yoke-style-by-dirtbound-offroad/ http://ironrockoffroad.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=IROR&Product_Code=IR-XHNT&Category_Code=XDT
  10. Still wish I could have gone to that.. I hear ya man. I saw one MJ out there the whole time we were out there and it was stock as a rock. Still nice to see some MJs though.
  11. <rant> Eww, just freakin' eww. NO Jeep should have rims bigger than 17" and I only say that because some stock rims are 17". After that, it just looks retarded. </rant>
  12. I wave at most any modified Jeep. Stock JK drivers I won't waste my time, nor any of the Compass or Patriot drivers, as those are generally soccer moms lol. I get a lot of waves from XJ owners (since I mostly drive an XJ) and some YJ/TJ/LJ owners. I even had a guy wave at me in an SJ, that was pretty cool.
  13. It's like that from factory in '86. I have an '86 MJ but it didn't have speakers. Thought it was odd at first to have those covers without speakers, but sure enough...
  14. Been to a junkyard yet? Any 4-door '84 - '96 XJ with manual windows will have what you need and they're far easier to find than MJs.
  15. This is my background... From my Uwharrie trip Memorial Day weekend.
  16. I assume you're looking for a manual one? Or are you wanting electric?
  17. The stock size in the doors are 5.25 inch. However, many people have fit 6.5 inch speakers in with no problem. I put 6.5 inch Pyle subs in my door, over the panel. I love it, and in the small cab of the MJ, they really give you plenty of bass.
  18. Someone post a screen shot from that episode! I wanna see lol. Seth MacFarlane would be extra awesome in my book haha.
  19. Thank you! She did just get a fresh paint job lol.
  20. I really wish there was a 100% effective way to keep DW from being such an issue for us. But I'm glad to hear you got it fixed. All the luck in the world to you on yours now.
  21. This was my daughter's birthday present. I didn't tow it to the house with the MJ, since it's not licensed or insured at the moment. I did use it, though, to put the roof back on her playhouse. Just thought this was a good picture.
  22. I forget where I found that chart specifically, but IIRC, it's specific to the 4.0L/AW4 auto in 4th/overdrive. It similar to this one, which goes into detail how they calculated the values... http://www.superlift.com/library/gears.asp This one may also be of some help: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f13/zj-forum-faqs-read-before-you-post-880249/
  23. As far as I can tell right now, I'm should be clear to go to URE. Getting my replacement part for my RC trac-bar just as soon as UPS gets out my way. Going to tie up some loose ends and swap that heim. Hoping and praying this takes care of that dreaded DW. Anyone from CC planning on being there? I'd love to seem some lifted MJs.
