Not sure I understand. Isn't that basically what the first post that Pete made by combining quotes is?

I hate to say it, but that is one MJ that needs to be put down. Right up there with that yellow and green abomination that has been floating around recently. I guess with the price set on this bucket, I'm not asking enough for mine set at the same price. Guess I should up it 5 fold.

:rotf: Love it, I might just see if that is available. Will need to come up with a good story for people who ask about it...

Well I know one thing you won't be able to get, any spelling of ZOMBIE. I personally got that one banned in this state because I tried to get it and the person working the counter took offense to it, wouldn't let me have it, then turned it in to be banned. They covered their bases and made sure alternate spellings, with numbers and such, were even marked as banned. Frikkin old crone, ruined my plans for making the J-10 Zombie rescue themed for shows. I'd say do something Olympic based maybe. USA88MJ... idk. Always figured my next one I get plates on would say GIRS MJ.

I had 91ELM8R on my... '91 Eliminator. Still have the plates hanging on my wall. Food for thought.

I'll have to turn this off and see about the battery use. Since updating my old 4s the battery sucks. Probably going to sell it since I only use it as an ipod, but been screwing around with ios 7 just for fun and since I'm a techno junky. For what it's worth, can't say I care about the tracking one way or another since my Note 2 does the same thing. I just wish added features like this wouldn't cut into the battery. They need to get over their paper thin obsession and add a bit of battery back IMO.

So... the 5.7 is going to be taking up all that space and the cab is going to be mounted back there instead of the bed? Interesting, can't wait to see the build.

So going off what you said above in response to Rob, 500 would take it complete with the d35 swapped back in, np242, driveshafts, and on the Canyons? If so very very interested since I could easily swap my black interior and brand new BFG ATs over from my '86 then try to sell that thing. TB spring and fuse box won't be too bad if that's really all it would need in this case. Just in need of a running MJ at this point or I'm stuck driving a '97 Taurus for the foreseeable future, not something I really want to be seen driving (it's "light demin blue metallic" to boot). Huge plus that you're only 2 hours from me, been looking at some much further away. Any chance of getting some more pics? If you want email or phone number to send them to, just shoot me a PM.

Overall I agree that it looks like a Toyota, the front strikes me as H2. IF we were ever to see the Comanche name brought back, let us hope it is not based on the Cherokee this time around. I'd also really like to see something that ties it to the original, like cab vents or something strictly MJ so it isn't just another plain-jane mid size truck.

factory bumpers are easy to find, i know of 2 MJs in the yards with the rear bumber still the stock one :) i just don't know how mucht the yard sells em for since i hardly go to that yard, Redwolf Easy to find? You're smoking something. Factory rear bumper that isn't all rusted out, bent up, or missing end caps are one of the harder parts to find. Right up there with tail lights. I've owned four MJs and stripped just about every one in a junk yard in this state, and only my current one has had a factory rear bumper. It's bent up and missing an end cap though. Since you seem to have a lucky scrap yard, any chance you'd be willing to grab me one and ship it? Needs to have all the parts though (minus brackets) and not be bent up or rusted through anywhere. Chrome would be a plus to keep it matching my front and all the other chrome, but not a huge deal just to get an unbent factory bumper. I keep asking people that question that come across them in yards and post pics of the trucks they find with them, but I never get an answer.
-
Ok, that must be what I'm thinking of. I was kind of wondering since I figured they would just bolt to the same location as the bumper no matter wheelbase.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't SWB and LWB mount differently? If so that is going to cut into total number of people willing to jump in if a limited production run is agreed to somewhere.
-
I see it and you are in Akron, is this yours? In the wrong section if so. No matter though, out of my price range or I'd grab this since it's right up the road. If the BIN price is any indication or the reserve, I can't justify it though when a NOS chrome one just went for $255 a few days ago..

It does have the plate though where that inverted U bar would attach to. And the brush guard does appear to be a FSJ guard just trimmed down as well then if you said it was "made to fit". Looks exactly like what I had on my '74 J-10. Hopefully going to a good home, would hate to see it molested or anything since it looks so good as is. I'd kill to have that thing since there is absolutely nothing but 100% junk around me for sale.

Oh man, I know what you mean! Basically the exact vehicle I want other than it being a manual and SWB, but I'd so live with that to have a '91 or '92 Eliminator again. Wonder what he considers "good on gas", I have a low mileage '97 Taurus that gets about 27 highway... I'll go get it tomorrow if he'd trade for that. lol Is it just me or does that look like a modified factory FSJ brush guard? We need Jim to go check this thing out since it's right down the road from him.

1986 Jeep Comanche X Conway, Nh $3950
GirsMJ86 replied to NHMJXJ's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
Good looking truck, not worth 4k though with that motor. I'd buy it though, ditch the plow and the red interior and call it good till the 2.8 died. Full gauges, don't see that with the 2.8 ever though. -
If you're looking for a factory one, welcome to the club.
-
:agree: You probably missed the whole Jeep for sale earlier that those parts were meant to go in when he got home from his "business trip" or something.
-
I'd be all for jumping on the wagon for a Reese hitch, if I wasn't between jobs yet again. My local fab place would make one up cheap anyways so when the time comes I'd be set if I miss out on the Reese thing if it actually happens.
-
Yea, pretty sure that was the general consensus in the topic that was made for that thing.

If turning radius isn't a huge issue for you, longer bolts can also replace the factory ones to prevent you from turning so far. That's what I did to my old '91 I had with a 3" lift and Canyon wheels with 31" tires that rubbed a tiny bit originally.
