Never heard of that, I will look into it though. Sorry but whats TSB? I have a MT but the engine was from an auto, do you think that could be part of the issue?
-
Interesting, I will take that into consideration.

So I have a 89 4.0, ax-15 combo, with 32,000 on the clock. I have been having some idle surging problem, and intermittent starting issues. I replaced the iac, tps, and eventually ended up replacing the icm. Everything seemed good after that, until now. When starting it when cold, it ha been idling very low, around the 500 range (needle is just above the zero mark on the tach). The truck is starting fine, but sometimes it wants to die when idling because it is so low. Once running for a couple minutes, it straightens right out, and is up around 700. My question is what could be causing this? I adjusted the new TPS, per cruisers tips, but is there I way I can further adjust it to correct this, or is it unrelated? Any help would be appreciated, TIA.

Hey, I have this same bumper waiting to go on, but the brackets are not welded on to the bumper yet. I cannot seem to fit the two piece bracket onto the frame without hitting the bolt head for the rear leaf shackle? How did yours go together. FYI I contacted JCR about the interference, but have not had a chance to take some pics of the interference.

Exhaust Manifold Replacement
JeepComanche89 replied to 54bobby's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
First of all I'm a 4.0 guy, so I can't help you there. However I do not think you are going to have much luck with an easy out. I tried that when one of my manifold bolts broke, luckily it was in the front, but it did not work. I ended up putting in whats called a helicoil. Its a coil type thing, that threads into a tapped hole, but has threads inside so you can thread a bolt into its self. I probably didn't explain that very well, but look it up if you don't already know what it is. To put in in you have to drill out old bolt, drill out that hole, tap that hole, insert helicoil, and then your good to go. You can buy a good helicoil kit from a good parts store and it will have everything you need to make multiple helicoils that size. Tell the parts guy what size the original bolt was, and they should be able to get you the right size helicoil. -
2Wd To 4Wd Conversion
JeepComanche89 replied to Guanaco.13's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yeah I converted to a AX-15. If you get one from years 95 and over iirc, thell have the external slave in the bell housing. You can get most of the other parts from rockauto.com. I boght a new slave assembly from there. -
Hmm, I'm probably going to miss alot but I'll try my best. 2 MJ's, 3 XJ's, an exploder, and a grand. probably more, but i don't know.

JeepComanche89 replied to Wrz's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I swapped 89 comanche belts into my 88 comanche. Everything was fine. If you don't mind me asking how much are you going to pay? I was going to buy a black set but I ended up spray painting mine flat black because I couldnt find any. -

Alignment After Lift
JeepComanche89 replied to JeepComanche89's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Not really the case. They just didn't want to do the alignment. They showed no interest at all after they saw it was lifted, even though I told them that. They did not want to sell me the parts, or fix it. Its going to a more reputable shop on Monday to see what they say. -

Nice pic, thanks. I guess I'll just take it to the new shop and tell them to do it without the longer arm. I'll post with what happens -
Turn Signal/socket?
JeepComanche89 replied to manche_mane's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Had a similar problem. Turns out my socket was bad amongst other things. There is a connector for the frot lights right behind the drivers side headlight. Its rectangular with a bunch of pins in it. Clean it out and then coat it with dieelectric grease and plug it back together. It might help, thats what i did just because mine was nasty, but my socket was bad anyway. -
A Couple Questions (Rpm Related)
JeepComanche89 replied to JeepComanche89's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
This makes alot of sense, i replaced the tps with one from a maunual. This could be why its bot adjusted correctly. I will have to try and readjust it according to cruisers tips -
