  1. No, because he already has gauges, not idiot lights. Read question before answering, Grasshopper. Boilermaker is correct -- 91 and newer uses an electronic speedo and the clusters do not interchange with the older models using mechanical speedos. In the original question and the pic he has idiot lights. Its a little confusing because he says gauge instead of cluster.
  2. Mine makes a similar noise at the same times you decribed and I'm almost positive it is my exhaust. If i pry it up with a pry bar near the tranny skid plate/cross member it stops. So i think the hanger is causing the problem.
  3. I picked up a new knee panel for my dash because one of the round things that holds the ash tray in was broke and it had the speakers connected to it; but when i put it in I couldnt find the wiring to connect them. I thought all MJ's came with the wiring for those speakers?
  4. I'm still a little confused about something. So the shift fork or the posi-lok lock both axle shafts togther? and when you switch to 4WD it engages the front drive shaft?
  5. Not yet, I will probally pick one up next week when i stop at the auto parts store. I am hopefully getting my ball joints and axle u-joints done next week too. Sorry for the hi-jack.
  6. I was always turn my key to the run position until I hear the fuel pump prime before i turn the key to start. It seem to start a little faster.

    Comanches doubt

Yep, my pioneer had idiot lights. I think if it was an AW4 you got lights, if a standard you got gauges.
  9. I put a fram oil filter in with my last oil change. Then everytime i went to park my truck my oil light started coming on (this also happened in a few of my other cars with fram filters). Somehow the fram filter was restricting oil flow. I replaced it with a napa gold (which are actually wix filters) and the problem went away. I will never use a fram filter again.
  10. I know, everytime i go to do a job, the extra stuff or the tools end up costing more than the original part.
  11. I have been lucky too. I used to go to my friends fathers shop for all my repairs then he retired. I know bring it to my mothers mechanic for the repairs i can't/ don't want to do. He is going to do my ball joints and the u-joints in the front axle for $150 labor since i already got the parts. he also does good work. I would have it towed somewhere else.
  12. I would sign up for AAA, a year membership is about the same price as 2 tow jobs. Then I would have it towed to a shop that specializes in electrical systems. When I had a problem starting and my mechanic could not find it (but didnt pretend like he could). so after a week I suggested I bring it to a place that specializes in electrical and he agreed, soi had it towed (again) and the next day the problem was solved. If your truck is a 4x4 make sure they tow it correctly or tell them to bring a flat bed.
  13. Wade, I would just like to appologize now for when my team pummels the purveyors this weekend.
  14. McCains wife didnt look to bad either.
  15. So is everyone saying it isnt a 258 or that it isnt the original engine? I'm confused.
  16. Can you use the holes where the fuel rail bolts too? or are they to small
  17. I believe if the screw bottoms out before the slop is out it means your steering box is shot. Hopefully eagle or somebody will confirm if this is correct or not.
  18. Yes, it is a torx #50 for the seat belt bolts. It could be worse don, you could have to remove all the trim. I just had to do that to put new 97+ whether stripping in. 1.5 hrs of removing trim for a 3 min job.
  19. Yeah, don't do it. Spend the $40 bucks for the felpro one; you won't regret it.
  20. I think some of them are. The frost king is i think, but not positive
  21. Yeah JT, Thats it. I just went and looked it up. Thanks here's some info on different brands: http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/
  22. If your asking me, It is actually the type of stuff used to insulate pipes and stuff. But it also come in sheets. Ill see if i can find it again.
  23. Are the lowers out of a 94 v8 the ones with the bend in them? If so, what type of modding do I need to do to one of the bushings?
  24. Yeah, thats a pretty cool little truck; what is it? and whats with the roof?
  25. I think the D44 came with the larger drums and pads. I don't think you can swap them.
