  1. Chico, this is what eagle said when i asked him that exact question: Bolts and screws that have a round or pan head measure just the length of the shank. Flathead (countersunk) screws measure the total length including the head. Best way to figure out the thread is to use a thread gauge, or take one into Lowe's or Home Depot and try it in the sample thread gauges they have in the hardware aisle. A lot of metric sizes are so close to SAE that it can get very confusing.

  5. looks great man. What type of vents did you use for the hood? Did you use drip rails? I like the turbine rims.
  6. I had one a while back it was great, and i have been considering starting another one. I had some carpet anemone, a puffer fish, some damsels ( some blue and yellow and some domino), a lyon fish. One time I got a rock and had a snake/eel thing in it. I had to bring it back before it killed my fish. My tank was a 37gal tall. Now you have motivated me to try and get this going again.
  7. This thread will be to list any and every bolt/screw size for any part on our MJ's. Hopefully we can get a good size list and then Pete will move it to the DIY section. So please list any screw/bolt sizes you know. If anyone can explain measurements of how bolt/screw sizes are measured that would be good too. Great pics of screw head types and threads with other info. http://www.pro-twist.com/generalinforma ... p?Action=3 http://www.gizmology.net/nutsbolts.htm
  8. Ill start the thread then maybe you can stickie it for a few weeks so people can add to it then move it to the DIY section.
  9. Maybe would should start a thraed for a list of nut/bolt sizes for?
  10. Will it list all the bolt/screw sizes in my FSM?
  11. Since i have been going thru my truck I have been finding alot of rusted, stripped, or missing screws. Like for the grill, headlights, interior moldings. I want to replace them all with stainless. What grade should I use for things like this? When it says #4, #6, #8 are those the grade?
  12. Right there is the difference between this board and others. What CW's thread was all about. Now back to original topic.
  13. Adjust TPS: http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Eng ... ostics.htm
  14. You can also udgrade to 97+ whether stripping from an XJ; its thicker. I just did this because my old stuff was all torn up and it made a big difference in the way they seal and with road noise. You have to pull the doors closed a little harder.
  15. Theres an Mj for sale on ebay and it says it has a bench in it but he has the original buckets. Send him an email and see if he will sell you the buckets if no one meets the reserve. here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-Com ... enameZWDVW
  16. Have you seen these. I am gonna order some. Solves the problem of having to do them alone. http://www.speedbleeder.com/
  17. I think it will work with the truck off. I changed my sensor a few weeks ago because a put a gauge cluster in and when i pulled the sensor coolant came flowing out and i had the engine off.
  18. I read a thread somewhere that talked about crap/sludge biulding up in older unmaintained engines causing over heating/ hot running issues. I don't know how to go about clearing the water passages in the block but after everything you've done thats the only thing I can think of. If you look at this link ans look at the 3rd pic down on the left you can see how much crud is built up on the old freeze plugs. If that happened in the water passages too, it could definately constrict water flow. http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoWelshPlugs1.htm
  19. link isnt working
  20. Is that just the pic or is your bolt on the upper control arm not tightened down?

  24. thanks fiat, i have the elec manual for my 89 but i am not to good at reading those diagrams. I think I understand now. I just need to run that connector up to where the cargo light would be. I was confused because the way it is tucked in there it looked like there is a wire running up there while the connector was near the light. thanks.
  25. Did you try rockauto.com?
