Mm, missed out on the single cylinder. My bad. Yeah, I am pretty clueless...

Are you surprised at that much? My FSAE team runs pretty well stock Honda 600cc engines which put out almost that much breathing through a 20mm restrictor. Unrestricted, they run at 115-120, I think.

My browser's buggered and not showing the pictures, but somehow just watching those arrows spinning on a grey background was making me motion sick... lol.

I paid $4.00/gal up here in Saskatoon a couple weeks ago when I last filled up. I haven't checked the prices myself, but from what I'm hearing I'd guess it's up another 20-30 cents/gal since then.

Maybe try putting a big evergreen bush or something at the corner of the shop to try catching the stuff? Without having something to fill that big gap behind the shop, you'll get air swirling around in there. Short of blowing air out into that void, I don't know that you'll be able to do much. Since you said inexpensive, I'll assume that constructing a windbreak around your property isn't going to work? You might be able to get away with putting up some kind of fence out from the edges of the building, but that might not help much.

Yeah, I can get "heat" out of my vents before the engines warm enough that the gauge starts registering. Air at 70F still feels a lot warmer than the ambient -20F.

Quick Google search (hint hint) to see what they were (wasn't really sure) turned up this thread about PT cruisers. Bunch of links there.

No. No it's not. Not at all.

It didn't come out at either end?

No snow in the pix... people round here want to go south to escape it and aren't so easily fooled.

Belt tensioner is the power steering pump. Don't unbolt the idler pulley.

Nicely done! The campus pub does something like this a couple times a month, but doesn't go for quite so long. Like, maybe 5 hours at the most, lol.

I'd love to go on a trip like that some day. I've been thinking about trying to do the run to Inuvik or Prudhoe Bay over Christmas break, but I've had trouble finding people to come with me... seems like everyone else wants to go the other direction... and I'm almost too busy in the summer.

I know how engineers think. More likely, they were designed to be 4wd, then as an afterthought someone decided they didn't have to be, and the 2wd was hastily deleted onto the chassis at the last minute. They are Jeeps, after all.

How far were you driving? It really doesn't take much juice to keep an engine going. Last July, I drove 30 miles through a storm, with my headlights and wipers on, after losing an alternator belt. After the thing I barely made it to on time (left late), I swapped the belt and the van I was driving turned over like the battery was fully charged. Best part was the storm had blown over by then, so I didn't even get drenched. The alternator itself may not be your issue... could be something else that got wet, preventing it from charging. It might (but not likely) get better if you let it dry out for a couple days.

Yeah, sometimes it does suck being able to deal with the snow. 2-4 inches, we wouldn't expect things to shut down, but those days when we wake up to eight inches plus of fresh snow, so you check your school email, and there's that subject line "U of S Announcement: Classes are NOT cancelled today"... those days can really get you down...

I played a round of golf yesterday with a tennis ball and potato canon. It wasn't bad, except for the 0°F windchill and the knee-deep snow. ;)

Yeah, better to have it stick open than closed. The bit of cardboard over the grill raising the temperature definitely shows it's overcooling. Most often it's a stuck thermostat, but it could also be a fan clutch that doesn't disengage or an auxiliary fan that won't shut off. Cardboard over the grill is a pretty common sight around here. It's what we liked to call a Saskatchewan thermostat. It's not used as a solution for stuck thermostats so much as it is for straight up decreasing the amount of cooling, so you get more hot coolant into the heater coil so your car warms up inside faster.

Okay, didn't know that. When Napa screwed up my order over Christmas and sent me an XJ tank, it had a valley down the middle of the bottom of the tank. Figured that was what it was for. Just an anti-slosh thing, then I guess?

I was about to ask you if you were sure the ground wasn't just frozen solid. Then I saw your location, lol. Hard ground makes for decent footings, but there's not much of it around these parts... it all turns to mush every spring.

It's in pieces, but bed looks straight. Bit of rust showing through the paint on the rocker. http://saskatoon.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-91-comanche-4x4-6cyl-W0QQAdIdZ455023384

Assuming the other parking light is working normally, you might have something shorting out to it. Of the switches and relays that control it, I'm fairly certain it's never on a circuit by itself. The battery is right there behind the passenger side lights, so that's where I'd start looking. Cleaning up the grounds (including tail lights) has helped a few people solve bizarre light behaviour, as well as making sure all the sockets have the right bulbs in them.
