  1. AGREED, we need more information... can the origional owner get on a keyboard? CW
  2. Mitch, I thought TWISTY was on here too?? I recognise MANY of those shots... I'm missing that trail in NH!!! Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found CW
  3. I would look hard at your universals, @ both ends of the rear drive shaft. You will need to remove it to look correctly. Then check the fluid in your T-case. If nothing else, its probably due for a change anyway. CW
  4. Cause its the same year. It's a fairly safe bet that same year will be same spline. Especially as we get into the mid 90's. The biggest spline counts changed with the remix/crico era. (21-23 spl, MOST of this was 1990) As parts where used up they where replaced with updated versions. That's why there is no set dates for changes and NOTHING is set in stone. What ever came out of the parts bin went on..... I thought he was going to come back with 84/94 XJ or some such thing..... CW
  5. I'm THINKING YOU TYPED THE WRONG DATES... BUT TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION AS IT WAS ASKED, Nothing is set in stone as far as anything Jeep.. But YES, it should bolt up fine. CW
  6. LOL, I didn't even see this post before posting my own just a minute ago!!! LOL LOL TOO FUNNY!! You got me beat, my cluster only just turned 200,000. (Truck only has 90,000) CW
  7. Mine is actually 90,000 mi, but the swapped in gauge package was 110,000 more. Today was a milestone.... CW
  8. Had a chance to build the leafs for the trailer today. I took a old set of XJ leafs.. And shot them with three coats of LOCKTITE EXTEND rust converter coating. I took my U-Bolts, MJ spring plates and stock XJ shackle and introduced them to a stiff wire brush/wheel. Then a wipe down with acetone and finally a coat of RUST BULLET. Then I took one good leaf from that RUSTYS set that broke apart on me and added it to the XJ pack. You can easily see the difference with only one MJ leaf in an otherwise stock XJ spring pack. Finally back at home, I shot everything with a couple coats of rustoleum black. One more thing ready for the trailer... CW
  9. I got some 2" aluminum spacers so I can run factory back spaced rims. I may still need to run aftermarket rims thou time will tell. I also scored some more steel...for FREE!!! I have been working buku overtime and extra on-call as well, so the build will be for the fall. But I have cleaned up some old shackles and MJ spring plates as well as squirreled away a wiring kit, U Bolts, centering pins and a full light set. I have just about everything sans the 4" receiver for my removable tongue. CW
  10. If your running an open diff, no nothing will happen. Now having said that, its always best to replace both tires on an axle. If your running a locker, DO NOT DO IT!!! If your running a LS factory or not it will cause accelerated wear and will not be good for the LS unit. CW
  11. All this ZJ talk is rekindling a desire for one.... Always liked the V8 option..... CW
  12. Wanna see some very cool trailer builds? http://expeditionportal.com/forum/forum ... rune=&f=42 CW
  13. I haven't been following it this year... THANKS for reminding us!!! Please join us on Sunday, September 27th at the Four Town Fairgrounds, located in Somers, CT from 9AM to 4PM. For more information, please contact us. http://www.jeeprally.org/about/ CW
  14. You having troubles reading son? Maybe you just need to clean that puter screen?? :???: You now, you don't HAVE to create a problem in EVERY thread you post in.
  15. Thank you. Do you mean in the back where the shackles mount? Mine was fine back there, my front mounts where pretty well rusted thru though. I clad everything in steel sheet. CW Sheet metal for frame repair at the front leaf spring mount? that's what I asked not the shackles, my frame is rotted around the leaf spring mount closest to cab and there is no way I would consider sheet metal for frame repair in that spot, thanks for letting me know. Not sheet metal, sheet steel. The stock I used is just shy of 1/8" and about TWICE the thickness of the factory used to make the frame. My repaired frame is now stronger than it was in 1989.
  16. I don't think you will go wrong with either guy. I have the Motion 3" MT packs and love them. CW
  17. and 57'' OAL... :brows: :shake:  :rotfl2: :dunce:
  18. It will not prevent it, it will provide the leverage to reduce it. How much you get is determined by the flex of your spring, the amount of traction and the weight of your right foot.   Its a not a bad idea, but don't get too hung up on it. Good set of new leafs will go a long way to eliminating spring wrap. CW
  19. Thank you. Do you mean in the back where the shackles mount? Mine was fine back there, my front mounts where pretty well rusted thru though. I clad everything in steel sheet. CW
  20. Try your local "pick-N-pull", or junk yard... CW
  21. Looks GREAT< I like this look too.. Thing is I like ALL the styles!! CW
  22. Anything over 5" means allot of reengineering. I mean about everything needs addressing. FORGET short arms in fact location. Drop brackets will suffice but a long arm set-up is well advised. FORGET factory inverted Y steering setup. FORGET factory track bar setup. 6" is allot for this truck, allot means expensive to do it right. I also recommend the RE 5.5 SOA kit. Even then you will still need to address your steering linkage. With 4:10 I would stick with 33's. Good luck and post up what you go with and how you do it. CW
  23. I agree with WR. As far as doing anything with the D30 that's under there.. forget it, its toast. You likely spun the carrier bearings, at the very least all bearings/races are gonzo. that super heated case was never intended to withstand that and cannot be relied upon ever again. Go get a new one and swap it in call it good till you can find a 231 for cheap. JMHO CW
  24. Front or rear? I am pretty sure I have a couple sets of factory bumper mounts for the fronts here. I MIGHT have a XJ rear but I know I don't have any MJ rears. OR do you mean tow hook mounts W/bumper mounts integrated? CW
  25. V8's in XJ/MJ's need special cooling system modifications. heck the freaking things are marginal with a 4.0 and they LIKE it hot. Chebys are cold blooded engines.... NOT the best combination. It can be done, but it also can be quite costly... I have wanted to build a street MJ with a crate 350 2WD for some time.. This "minor" dilemma is my biggest stumbling block... CW
