Hood light repair?
WahooSteeler replied to eaglescout526's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well, I may be a new guinea pig for this. Mine locked up after years of no real problems and I plan to drill out the rivets and see what I can do......soon. -

No loading ramps needed! -
I used Noico 80mil also, and have been very happy with the results too. I was having my headliner redone and had the shop put in the Noico on the roof. This was before I did the floors, doors, back wall and up in the C pillars. That said, even just after having the roof done I could notice a difference. No, you're not going to fall asleep going down the highway at 70mph because it's whisper quiet, but from where it was to where it is now has been like night and day.

Most definitely worth it on the ceiling!

My thoughts exactly -
This sure looks good in the pics, and could be a helluva price if it checks out. Somebody here needs to scoop this up! https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/940865206488643/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_general&referral_story_type=general&tracking={"qid"%3A"6978300310359844266"%2C"mf_story_key"%3A"30589385818902820"%2C"commerce_rank_obj"%3A"{\"target_id\"%3A30589385818902820%2C\"target_type\"%3A6%2C\"primary_position\"%3A0%2C\"ranking_signature\"%3A7658216620535316480%2C\"commerce_channel\"%3A501%2C\"value\"%3A0.0034405596940854%2C\"upsell_type\"%3A108}"}

This was on my daily FourWheeler.com email feed just now...... https://www.fourwheeler.com/news/jeep-wrangler-xtreme-recon/?wc_mid=4035:21551&wc_rid=4035:34950555&_wcsid=12CEADA9231090A94F326B305BDD961C7684236471778A98

I saw a headline on Jalopnik or maybe on Four Wheeler that the Bronco killer was coming. I didn't click on it to read but it said "rumored" to have available 37" tires and could all be had on the Rubicons including the 392, obviously. Pretty sure I also glanced at a similar headline that it was all but certain the 392 option would be coming in the Gladiator.

Power Steering Pressure Switch?
WahooSteeler replied to WahooSteeler's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks everybody....... -
Do MJ's have a power steering pressure switch? I don't recall ever seeing one on or around either the pump or steering box, yet all parts suppliers show one for 86-97 MJ/XJ and it's also shown in my 88-90 parts manual, #53000970.

I see the evidence under the rear bumper of how this idea came about, but I don't see the other 40 cans it took to actually decide to follow through with it -
Leaking under passenger side dash after A/C fix
WahooSteeler replied to bezjeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I think I used 3/4" heater hose from the parts store. Slid right on but not loose, hasn't budged in over a year. @$2/ft at the parts stores -

Melonmousine! -
For $100k I better get a completely new interior, i.e. freshly reupholstered LEATHER seats, new carpet (and it should be black to go better with the bright red), all interior controls looking new, and CLEAN! And that's just to start with. I'm not impressed by your Corvette motor if the engine bay doesn't look clean enough to eat off of. Hell, in one pic you can see the passenger door sill plastic is blue! Sorry, this is laughable. This car wouldn't bring more than $30k at Barrett-Jackson or Mecum's........if they even let it roll across the stage. A gear head is going to tell the seller they can replicate what he did for $20k and a collector is going to have a hernia from laughing so hard.

NOS steering wheel ebay
WahooSteeler replied to 88mjsally's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
That's why I was thinking on a resto someone might pay that, but the simple answer is.......yes. Before I reupholstered my MJ seats in classic 80s burgundy tweed/houndstooth, I looked at lots of other options with the shop and they had perforated leather and "leatherette" (vinyl) available. I thought about keeping the burgundy vinyl bolsters on the sides and replacing the OE worn out houndstooth pattern cloth on the seat bottom and backrest with black perforated leatherette. Kept it original looking and love how it turned out. Big I digress........ -
I run a Bazooka 6.5" dual voice coil sub at a 2 ohm load. My Pioneer "high power" head unit can run a mono 70w output at 2 ohms on one of the rear channels. The sub is rated up to 300 watts, but you'd be amazed at how solid it sounds with just 70w. And it takes up very little room behind the passenger seat. I've seen some people use one 8" DVC tube and others use two 6.5" tubes with just a single voice coil, one behind each seat. Lots of options.

NOS steering wheel ebay
WahooSteeler replied to 88mjsally's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
That's crazy money. I know some people want OEM no matter what, but you can get a wheel rewrapped for about 1/4 of that I believe. -
Have you been able to really inspect the frame closely? Those other items can be possibly be repaired, the frame may be more than you want to take on if it is rotting. With that snowplow on there if it was used a lot for that and exposed to a lot of salt, that could be trouble. Definitely checks a lot of boxes though! Hope it works out

Torq, one final thought I'll add is that since you are committed to not cutting anything up, which I personally appreciate, if you put tweeters in the sail panels you have not REALLY altered or destroyed any factory trim pieces. If you don't like the look or sound, you can pull them and replace with another set of blank sail panels which fortunately are not that hard to come by between MJs/XJs. And, most component tweeters come with a flat base and an angled base to mount the tweeter, giving you at least a little bit of control in angling them in a desirable direction. With that in mind, the tweeter mounts in the lower dash panel are at knee level and point down, so again, IMO, the location and direction of the high frequencies is opposite of what is most ideal.......closer to the ears and directed towards the listening position. One last option that just came to mind and may not have been mentioned yet is morphing in to the back of your headliner the rear ceiling speaker panel from an XJ. You've probably seen this mod before. That idea may not fit your goal/agenda of trying to keep an "all stock" look, just thought I'd throw that in there. I'm pretty sure the XJ panel holds 6.5" speakers. Interested to see what you end up doing!
