  1. Carry extra shafts. If you need some, I'm sure 95% of the people on here have some laying around.
  2. It occured to me on the way to work today that an out-of-balance front DS could cause some vibration up front.
  3. I have some Walmart 195/75/R15s (something like that) from a cavalier in the shed..
  4. Popped out? Was there a cotter pin in the castle nut? It did when the axle was put on. Evidently it rusted off enough to where it either broke or fell out. The hardware store was out of castle nuts in that size and the castle nut from the steering shock's threads were cruddy enough to where the ball in the joint would turn before it got tight, so I had to put two regular nuts on it. Whole trip back it didn't shake once. I guess the tires that were on the blue one when I got it are going on my red one now.
  5. Had a new cause of it the other day... I came down to Iowa to meet up with a friend and on the way my trackbar decided to just fall out of the bracket at 75 mph. Luckily it happened about 1/8th mile from an exit with a hardware store right off of it, so I popped the castlenut off the steering shock and threaded it on, then limped to the store and got some new nuts. It still did it after that, but I eventually stopped and rotated the tires and it only did it once for the last 70ish miles of the trip.
  6. yeah but they're sooo pretty.
  7. If you begged Advance Adapters I'm sure they could make you one.

*ahem* to actually answer the question... Yes, ALL 84-96 XJ/MJ fenders and the like are the same/swappable.
  9. I added an after market, universal cruise control system and it works pretty good.
  10. If the wrangler had coils, yes it would be a TJ, unless it's bran-new, and that would be the JK.
  11. "Other" "Other" wasn't an option.
  12. Full cluster, then some more fog lights, then the 4wd conversion.
  13. I've had shot U-joints cause it as well.
  14. Remember that there's more than just the speedo operated by the gear. After awhile, your odometer will be off by quite a bit.
  15. Not when you have to constantly replace lugnuts. I use a long handle 1/2 drive flexhead ratchet for lug nuts. Almost as long as a breaker bar, and once it's loose you can bend the handle back and just spin it. I don't use an actual torque wrench to get them on, but I do the star pattern and torque them down in 3 or 4 incriments.
  16. There really wasn't anything else to mount to. Trip was about 8 miles and I took it easy. It was certainly better than the first time I towed this truck, the tow bar fell off and went to just chains without us knowing, and it nearly tore the bumper off.
  17. Bumper had to come off anyway, and I couldn't find any way to "clamp" the tow bar to anything like it's designed for, but I had a set of spring plates sitting around, and it ended up working perfectly. Turns out the shorter distance between bolt holes on them is the same as bumper mounting bolt holes.
  18. I like the black. shoulda done it as a poll thread
  19. If the weld is done with enough penetration :brows: It will hold. I have had this problem before and welded a second lugnut on using a 220v welder set at 175 amps. Both nuts were glowing after I welded them together. The key is the weld quailty. Maybe he didn't remove that stupid aluminum cover beforehand? I could see why trying to weld steel to steel with that in the way would cause a problem. When I had that problem I heated the lugnut up a bit and used those bolt-outs like Wildman put up. As for putting it back on, go out and get one piece lugnuts. Stock Jeep ones are just....dumb.
  20. I got this at Farm and Fleet on sale for $129.99 with a regular price of $199.99. Came with a load leveler.
  21. Looks the wrong calipers to me, like they're not going in all the way either. Yes the piston is supposed to be above the pads a little bit, but not by that much. As for the pic size, I suggest getting a photobucket account. Completely free, and it resizes it automatically when you upload, to a very forum-friendly size.
  22. I've give up my 5 Speed in a Second for an Auto if it were an EASY and FREE swap...  I'm sure there's someone out there that woulf gladly trade you an AW4 for your Ax-15.
  23. I got 4 air horns off of a semi for free, they're sitting at my brother's, just gotta go pick'm up.
