  1. I figured out what I could do with the empty hole now that I will only occasionally be using the swing out tire carrier – a CB antenna location. Stopped by Radio Shack and picked up a CB antenna mount -> It fit in the hole like a glove -> Slapped a coat of paint on it -> The upper mount adds a bit of protection also -> The spot could be used for an ORV park flag as well. I took this opportunity to paint up the license place bracket -> . . . and to turn it 180 degrees to provide a bit more clearance and protection -> I couldn’t ask for a better fit & I was able to do it without re-welding ->
  2. I think you are giving project88mj a run for the Zoolander title  . Nah, he has that locked down. But now I do believe you could have a career as a LL Bean jacket model  Cool jacket by the way - looks like a Carhartt.
  3. You do that like this... http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=12948] YOUR WORDS HERE Without the colors & spaces..yYou will get this... YOUR WORDS HERE 92comanche4x4 thanks for asking that , I did not have the to ask myself. You are the man BLHTAZ
  4. Mmmm, Florida baked goods! I hope that mouse wasn't Mickey, it will crush Pete :( .
  5. I will have the swing arm off the bumper 98% of the time, so I am forced to find another location.
  6. I can take it off any time I need to. It is held in like any other hitch - with a pin. I think I am going to turn it upside down, since the swing arm is not on it, and see if that helps. I think that is a great idea about the 45 degree position. james750 - I would give Mike a call. I will be emailing Mike about that, and my new LWB sliders :brows: . I will let you know what he says. He does make them - there are two CC members that have them now.
  7. The bumper is on and it s ! Just have to get the jeep painted now :shake: . More pictures are on the last page of my build-up.
  8. I was able to get the bumper on this week. I just think it is awesome. I made a license plate holder out of 2" receiver hitch & steel - it looks pretty good. The swing out tire carrier is amazing. I have decided to use it only when I am going camping or trail riding. I am not able to see who is coming up behind me (in the rear view mirror) with that big 33 inch tire on there - it looks tough on it though. I am going to use the hole for the swing arm bolt for my cb antenna. Here are a few shots ->
  9. :agree: Mine was maroon - out of an XJ with auto. I just painted it with SEM black paint.
  10. I called around on pricing to have the rear bumper powder coated. I was thinking if I could get it for around 100 bucks, I could not pass it up . At that price I would rather have it professionally coated then try and paint it myself. I got a quote from a guy in my business park - $250. Dang that seemed expensive, but I am a cheap guy. Called a place I used 6 years ago - $330 :fs1: ! At this point I am pretty certain I would have to paint it myself until Wingtime suggested I call a place around the corner from him. Buddy you came through again! I described the two pieces of the bumper and she said $75.00!!!! Oooh yeah ! I brought it down to DPS Powder Coating last week and this Tuesday it was ready. It looks great. I just got the bumper mounted tonight with some grade 8 hardware, but it is too dark out to get some quality pictures. I will get plenty of pictures posted this weekend of it in place. Here are a few pictures of the bumper after the powder coating but not installed -> /uploads/archive/d1d1f007ff2e0e0e850829beea2fff7b/0152d30298755bd0dbd12f17ee4b0e4b.jpg /uploads/archive/d1d1f007ff2e0e0e850829beea2fff7b/61b49cd0937546eaff16d2dc71b378de.jpg /uploads/archive/d1d1f007ff2e0e0e850829beea2fff7b/2f18ae27099cb43ba53743cedcc9aa88.jpg Swing out tire carrier -> /uploads/archive/d1d1f007ff2e0e0e850829beea2fff7b/21defefb962b978d3948c19c58dd5a00.jpg TBC

  12. Those small issues aside (spacers and shackles are easy fixes), it looks like you have found a deal. The body looks solid too. I like that you have already started to upgrade it  . Welcome to the club  - Rich

  20. How important is that canister under the overflow bottle in my 89? I just noticed it is MIA , even the bracket is gone. Would I see any benefits (increased MPG) if I return it to stock? - Rich

  23. Yes, the earlier years had black interior. I have the dark blue interior, but there was a smurf blue as well.

    Hey BLHTAZ

 You thought {by making some minor changes to your name} we wouldn't make the connection? . . . saw this and thought of you ->
  25. Curiosity is what got the whole thing started. I was just weighing out all of my options. I haven't decided if I am going to use the swing out tire carrier on it all the time since it is driven mostly on the highway. Maybe just for 4wheel excursions? That is why I may put a 33" pizza cutter spare up there.
