Aah, that's what it is called. Well, it sounds like I should replace it. TY

How important is that canister under the overflow bottle in my 89? I just noticed it is MIA , even the bracket is gone. Would I see any benefits (increased MPG) if I return it to stock? - Rich

Yes, the earlier years had black interior. I have the dark blue interior, but there was a smurf blue as well.

 You thought {by making some minor changes to your name} we wouldn't make the connection? . . . saw this and thought of you ->

Curiosity is what got the whole thing started. I was just weighing out all of my options. I haven't decided if I am going to use the swing out tire carrier on it all the time since it is driven mostly on the highway. Maybe just for 4wheel excursions? That is why I may put a 33" pizza cutter spare up there.

33'' Tire in Stock Spare Location - WORKS!
Drahcir495 replied to Drahcir495's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Just put it up to see if it would fit :waving: -
I have yet to hear of anyone trying to use the stock spare location under the bed for a larger (33") tire? I decided to try it out today and the fricking thing fits - well %7BSMILIES_PATH%7D%5C/jamminz.gif . Sure it hangs down a bit, but I could get a 33" pizza cutter to stay up there permanently and keep the 33x13x15 on the swing out carrier. /uploads/archive/d1d1f007ff2e0e0e850829beea2fff7b/e69e395804a22c6daad58ad82c64dcb7.jpg /uploads/archive/d1d1f007ff2e0e0e850829beea2fff7b/5e6fe9579f94038ec32c0e60c9b10155.jpg /uploads/archive/d1d1f007ff2e0e0e850829beea2fff7b/cacb79b020d76eef54380bce236eb9ae.jpg

Same here  . I was shocked at how well it worked. I would have been screwed with out it. - Rich

Oh yeah  , I had Friday off. I spent the day working on my rear bumper. I drilled a hole in the swing out tire carrier. Now I can lock down the Hi-Lift jack -> Locked up -> I also needed to get the bumper supports mounted up and bolted in. I had to drill and tap two new holes in the rear -> I got to use my right angle drill for the first time -> The new bolt in place -> I got the supports in and used a come-a-long to get the bumper to fit snugly in place -> The bumper fits perfectly. Now I just need to send it off to get powder coated!

Maybe you just need to tighten up the front end, or get an alignment / shocks? Mine is wonderful on the highway - 70 miles a day @ 70mph w/33'' tires. I will give you that I am used to driving CJ's, so it’s like driving a Caddy in comparison. Never had a truck before, so I can't compare that for you. I do prefer it over my Explorer - but it is a jeep thing. Don't get that it sucks to work on :huh???: . Sounds like you may not be a jeep person? Nothing wrong with that . Good luck - Now sell it to one of us ;)

My lift did not come with shocks - 1) Shocks & 2) bump stops.

Thanks Pete

I don't remember placing the "FL" in front of my title in the classified section, but it is there :dunno: . Does anybody know if that happens automatically, or do I need to thank Eagle/offroader461 for the add-on? Thanks - Rich

Retractable Underhood Light Plug / Mystery Wire
Drahcir495 replied to SuperWade2's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
oops beat me to it. I have that plug, but is connected to something else? It has a matching end that goes into the wiring harness - towards the battery. -
So who are the 3 friends you are getting to help you meet your 11 inch goal? :rotfl2:  I am in for two!

Interior light lens donor?
Drahcir495 replied to bilgamesh's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Articulate may not be the best word to describe it? Mine have three positions. Something like this -> Center - Off, Bottom - On, Top - On when door is open. Did yours not have this?
