Did it wake you up at 4:30 am? Glad you are still around. Get well - Rich

Picked up the transmission and transfercase! I started admiring the combo in the bed of the truck when I was filling up with gas. Something looked odd. I realized that the transfercase did not look like the NP231? It is the NP242 - I think that is pretty cool. I did some damage to my computer and it will not let me enter smilies, check my AOL mail, upload pictures to Photobucket, look at more than one picture on Ebay, etc. I messed something up good, so the build thread will be very light on pictures until I find a work around or pay the Geek Squad to fix it. Its fixed The new AW4 & NP242 ->

 I will let you know if anything on your list is there.

Thanks btm24 - we are heading to the LKQ on Sat. if interested.

Rock - heading out to the CLW/St Pete LKQ this Saturday, with the crew from Gear Works, if interested. I will be in a black XJ, but my friend may have his MJ there?!? Maybe we will see you there - Rich

Going to pick up an AW4 transmission with NP231 Transfer case tomorrow! It was pulled from a 93 XJ and should be in good condition. I hope to have made some progress to the MJ by Monday.

Well, as with most of my stories, they get better every time I tell it, come to think of it, I believe it was more like 8 on 1, maybe more, they were dropping so fast it was hard to get an accurate count. On my bucket list ~ Go out Driking with Comanche County!

That just sucks to hear . . . possible memorial thread added? Beaterjeep - you will be missed R.I.P.

Well said ride172 :agree: ! What parts do you need to get running, Brandon?
-
Honestly - I have never seen one before. That would suck to have to work on a car with that installed. I am lost in this thread because I normally end mine with the  , but it is just not appropriate here

I can have it bottled and shipped to you CC  How about being able to get plowed on a Wednesday afternoon :fs1: ? I have to work everyday :shake:

F that, I don't care if its their first time, I would call the cops, why give them the second chance to kill someone? True. Not going to defend her at all. I have made a few stupid mistakes in my life and I will never forget when I was given a second chance. It turned my life around. This obviously was not one of those second chance situations.

But not this time! On the way home from work today I see a vehicle stranded in the ditch, so I pull over to help -> We have had a lot of rain these last few days and all the drainage ditches in the area are at capacity. I see this and think “I may be able to help get this thing out”, but I need to see if anyone is hurt. At first I did not see anyone in the mini van, but as I got closer I see this girl in the driver’s seat. I run up and she is giving me the 1 minute finger. I thought she was on the phone at first, but then at second glance I thought she must be having an asthma attack because she is puffing on an inhaler. She opens the door and asks if I can get behind the vehicle and push her out. This is when I realize she was not puffing on inhalers! It was an ignition interlock system, or car breathalyzer. She was hammered and this was not her first rodeo ~ so to say. Aren’t those things supposed to prevent the car from starting when you are intoxicated?!? What a joke. We talked - well I did, she just mumbled - until the fire department showed up. No way could I pull her out and have her drive away intoxicated to potentially hurting someone, or herself. If it had not been for the car breathalyzer, I would have considered driving her home to avoid a DUI - but she needs her license revoked. How was your evening – lol?

Buck, Thanks  . You are always welcome to help out, but Lake Mary is a bit of a drive :wrench: . You can always pick my brain from there - :typing: PM, email, or call me. I will do my best to help you out, but nothing beats hanging out over a jeep project and brainstorming. Talk to you soon - Rich

Back at it again today. The floor in the MJ looks really good. A plug missing from the passenger’s side floor, but it is rust free-> The transmission hump is perfect -> And there are just a few spots of rust through on the driver’s side -> Removed the wiring harness, brake booster/cylinder, and the clutch reservoir -> Also removed the heater core and box -> With everything from the inside of the MJ removed, we can get the interior from the 96 XJ in -> Started removing the dash with the deep socket - I remembered to bring it with me today. I am trying to remove the dash as complete as possible for the install-> Disconnected the fuse block and kept most of internal wiring on the back of the dash. Just had to disconnect a few of the connectors to finally get it free -> Pulled up the carpet – going to see if it can be made to work in the MJ -> TBC - Rich

A few weeks ago I picked up a truck box off Craig’s List -> I think I will use this one on the dually and find something less flashy for this truck. With all the free time I have over this weekend I started working on getting everything out of the MJ for the 4.0 swap. I started on the Third’s interior -> After removing the red dash, I found an army of mud dauber nests, spiders, and ants in every crack and crevice -> Then my ADD kicks in and stated to remove the XJ dash. I almost had it completely out, but did not have a deep socket for the steering column and switched tasks again -> Made some progress on the new door panels. Door panels b4 -> Door panels after adding hockey stick arm rests and map pocket -> I found out that the truck had Rats nesting in door passenger’s side door at some time -> I really wanted to get the engine out today, but I would be left to do it on my own. I did not let that deter me and found this little gem on the frame while getting ready to pull the engine-> Getting the 2.8 ready to come out -> Lifted over the header panel and ready to go -> This is where I really needed help. I could not move the hoist with the engine on it – shoot. All the rain made the ground very soft and there was no way I could get it to budge. With a little ingenuity I was able to pull the engine free of the engine bay _> Sitting safely on the ground -> TBC - Rich

Thanks for giving me a little more time Automan2164. Thank you to everyone behind the scenes that thought my jeep was good enough to be included in the Comanche of the Month ranks  . TylerJY thanks! Buxmj - kind words ~ thank you. Pete - thank you for starting this great site, so  right back-atcha!

I felt the same way two weeks ago when I was at 2 MJ's  . Glad you stop by the CC, even if it is to rationalize your addiction :rotfl2:

As if two MJ projects is not enough :thwak: I saved this 86 MJ viewtopic.php?f=24&t=30396 . The rear wheels are held on by one lug nut each, but it managed to make the 40 mile drive in one piece. This project should move quicker than the dually MJ, because I am not worried about the color and I picked up this donor XJ to immediately swap its goodies over to the project MJ -> The reason it was cheap ->

Rock - you don't have to have the jeep done to hang out ;) . I would love to give you a hand - I just need to plan in advance because of work. Yes - go to LKQ of Clearwater - located at 12501 40th Street North, south of Ulmerton. Rich
