I will be getting rid of mine, but I have been batting zero as well trying to get the cable off to remove it! Seems like I need six hands to hold the clips, pop the cable off, and pull it out all at once.

Really kind of up in the air there. The Rusty's Add a Leaf is probably not designed for the Metrc Ton leaf springs, so you could end up with more or less lift. May end being a try it and find out deal.

MJ seat mounts, little bit of flat steel depending on the mounting type, and it will adapt very easily. The XJ seat sliders sit further apart than the MJ sliders.

Yep and they were never any good in the Caravan either! Mine decided to be a little pain today and wanted to give up going over the mountain. Pff, whatever, hit the overdrive off button!

There is a sensor screwed into the top of the transfer case with a four wire connector.(Not to be confused with the speed sensor by the rear drive shaft.) Try cleaning the connector out first and reapply dielectric grease. If that does not work, then it may just need a new sensor. The ball bearing in the sensor will get stuck and some have successfully freed it. If the transmission fluid is watery then the transfer case fluid is probably watery too.

It has the 42RLE transmission. It is a nightmare and should never have been put into vehicles. The 40-45mph issue at low RPM is notorious a bad spot for that transmission. I have the 42RLE in my LJ and want to replace it. It sounds like the transmission fluid is contaminated with water. The entire pan will have to be pulled, since there is no drain plug, to clean it out with a new filter, put back together, and refilled. Unfortunately if this is the case and he has been driving it expect to save up for a replacement transmission in the future. I am not entirely sure how the transfer case linkage works on the 2005 Liberty. If it is like other models then the adjuster screw could have slipped which is easy to readjust.

After having every piece of Rough Country hardware I owned failed by 20,000 miles, some less than 10,000 miles, I can not recommend any of it for serious use. Some of it failed in ways that could have caused roll over wrecks at high speed.

I have the full engine/firewall harness from my 1987 laying around.(4.0L, BA-10, 2WD) Probably a good idea to do some research first to see if it would be compatible. My interior harness is busted if that is what you needed.

Template made from the XJ firewall used to spray paint mark the cutting area. Template removed to check marking. The template also works to guide the 67mm hole saw. A 67mm(2 5/8") hole saw is used so that once the grinding work to finish the hole is done it will be about 69mm. Inside behind the template. The cut out half moon is perfect filler for the existing hole. After some trimming. After lots of bad welding.
