James92 Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Alright, I can't believe this hasn't come up yet so I'll make a post. Sounds like Jeep is working on an SRT (V8?) two door pickup with IFS. And they're calling it the Scrambler. I'm dying to see what the renderings look like. Rear facing seats? Sounds really cool! What are your guys' thoughts? https://www.thedrive.com/news/jeep-is-building-a-wrangler-scrambler-srt-with-removable-roof-backward-facing-rear-seats-and-probably-a-v8
89 MJ Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Ditch the V8 and IFS and they might have something. I’d like to see something fill the void between a JL and a JLU though. A 2 door Wrangler with a foot longer body would be about perfect, like the original Scrambler.
AnotherOldJeepGuy Posted May 22 Posted May 22 I'm with Pete, I'll believe it when I see it [for sale at the dealers]. But I'd love to see a new 2-door pickup. I note that the article says 2-door, but the picture still shows 4-doors, not sure how to interpret that
neohic Posted May 22 Posted May 22 What better way to stir the pot than with a V8, two door, IFS concept at Easter Jeep this year? I’m not at all suggesting that this is the final form, but I would say that it’s smart of Jeep to gauge interest with something wild like the Striker.
ThatJeepGuy Posted May 22 Posted May 22 I'm still sour over the early and late Gladiator ordeal... based on a topic of reviving retired models from decades ago. Its not a new opinion, the new gladiator looks more like a 4 door scrambler... Atleast I'm sure we can expect an actual relatable design structure to the original scrambler soo that will be nice - id rather not see an ifs version of this but understand also - the new customer base expects a level of ride quality and comfort that a solid axle front maybe can't compare
pizzaman09 Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Really I just want a production version of the J6 concept with a V6 and a manual transmission. As long as it's a two door Jeep pickup with a manual, I'm highly interested. I'm perfectly fine with the IFS, I'm not a hard core off roader. Quite frankly I've driven my Austin Healey Sprite in just about all of the same places I've driven my Comanche off road.
TheNerfsmith Posted May 27 Posted May 27 With the new press I’m really interested to see where this goes. My main gripe with the gladiator is that I wish it had the I6 or the Hemi from the start. I’m really excited to see what Dodge will do and hopefully we return to form with some solid offerings.
