My first MJ just arrived! I found it on marketplace in Washington, purchased it, and had it trucked home to Ohio. It’s an ‘87 Sportruck, 2.5, AX4, 2WD. 231,000 miles on the clock. The plan right now is to use it as a summer DD. I want to keep it out of the salt as much as possible. There are plenty of things that I’d like to do, but I don’t have time or space for a major car project. Glad to be here!

I have always loved how those steelies look on these jeeps. I've daily driven my 4.0 AW4 for 4 years, no regrets. It's nice driving something that I always turn around to look at when I park

Great looking rig! I'm rebuilding my interior - I'd love to see some pics of your interior.

Here’s a few. The PO did a lot of work inside. Most things are in good shape. Some panels are loose and need to be secured.

Well, I doubled my 2.5’s horsepower for $1.20. After my first few drives, I was really underwhelmed with this engine’s power. I’ve never owned a 2.5 before this one, but it struggled going up small hills. After a little digging, I found that my gas pedal was hitting the poor-fitting vinyl floor at about half throttle! I picked up this little cable clamp from Aircraft Spruce, and adjusted the position of the pedal on the cable. Now I can drive the speed limit!

Nice fix. Just be aware that those set screw clamps can wear through and break the cables.

When I swapped to the 98+ horseshoe manifold on my 4.0 I had a similar issue with the new H.O. throttle cable and the Renix gas pedal. I ended up pulling my gas pedal out of the truck and bending it away from the firewall to match the new longer throttle cable it worked great.

My left window has been significantly harder to open and close than the right window. I took the door card off and tried lubricating the regulator. That didn’t seem to help, so I looked deeper. I found that the slide tube was damaged. With little pry bar action, the window moves more easily. Still a little stiff, but definitely a step in the right direction. I was hoping to find a build sheet in there, but I didn’t. I guess I’m not surprised. It has been reupholstered recently by the PO

Replaced the front brakes this weekend. I found @WAEMID IV’s video helpful, especially with ordering the right parts. I totally spaced out and forgot to order a set of pads. Thankfully the previously installed pads still had a lot of life left. No I can use my brakes without shaking the truck apart!IMG_1392.jpeg.aa5e29d5cc29bd82ebe23b09e63ead1a.jpegIMG_1393.jpeg.bf970afff4126604c088df57f0d98a2a.jpegIMG_1394.jpeg.7f0a83ab6f82ce23d0507cd21d04200b.jpegIMG_1395.jpeg.3cb2fb2d234c07a324d68c361fc002d3.jpegIMG_1396.jpeg.918ecac0bca8c66108a579d32f5da8d9.jpeg
