1991mj
I'm looking to replace the 2 rubber fuel lines coming off the fuel pump to the steel lines then the 2 little rubber pieces on either side of my fuel filter. I bought rubber fuel injection hose that's sae 30r14t2, and on napas website it says that the working psi of the line is 225psi... will this fuel injection hose work for me under here or do I need to find sae 30r9? eaglescout526
You’re probably the first and only person to ask about specs of fuel line. If it was me I’d probably just run what I bought without knowing the specs except if it’s fuel injection rates hose or not.
fiatslug87
If fuel pressure at the rail is 40psi, I can’t imagine a 225psi rated hose is not sufficient near the pump.
Eagle_SX4
It should be just fine. I ran some carb fuel hose on my car rated at only 50 psi for a while before I realized my mistake and got some fuel injection hose. The hose I am using is Gates Barricade MPI Fuel Line hose in both 3/8 and 5/16. It is also rated at 225 PSI. It has a rating of SAE 30R14 T2. I have not had any issues with it. Just make sure your hose clamps are tight.
Ωhm
225 PSI refers to when the pump deadheads (ON but no flow). IDK what SPEC is, might say with the pump's paperwork.

ghetdjc320
The return hose carries no significant pressure so carb hose is fine. There is not a decent barb on the hardline at the engine side where it switches to soft line. An Oetiker clamp is what I’ve seen factory use there. In fact, I’d use stainless Oetiker clamps on all but the fuel sending unit connection. 3/8 fuel injection hose on the supply side will work just fine. Personally I prefer to use a vapor guard hose which is a marine rated efi hose.
llhat
had to look up what an Oetiker clamp was... interesting and visibly a quality item.
watchamakalit
Well, I too had to look up what an oetiker clamp is. That led to a rabbit hole about hose clamps in general. It seems constant tension clamps are preferred in large temperature swing applications, due to their ability to maintain clamping pressure with the movement. After wasting an afternoon reading about all the different types of clamps and capabilities of them I begin to question why we have worn clamps. There seems to be a better option in every category one way or another.
ghetdjc320
In the watercraft world, we use a variety of clamps depending on the application with 316 stainless Oetiker being a mainstay on most fuel and coolant hoses.
