Spare keys

I was just thinking I have only 1 set of keys for my Comanche. Does anyone have an extra set of blank keys laying around. Mine have Jeep on one side, and  American motors on the other. My ignition key has a a J stamped in it. My door key is just a round style key. Thanks guys

Those exact keys are rare and expensive. Close to $100 a pair on eBay.

You can get generic key blanks for cheap.

I know the AMC logo J keys get really expensive. These are what I buy for mine…same thing just Chrysler logo. I’ve bought from them for both of my trucks’ keys.

I have a decent amount of these keys for the door. I don’t have any of the square keys though.

I've been told by several people that I need to have an old school key grinder cut the door lock key for mine.  The read it and cut machines that the big box hardware stores have can't copy the profile.  The ignition key was easy, they did it right there with the automatic machine and a generic square GM style key blank.

Ace used to have the old style cutting machine, you'll have to find an older one. Or a locksmith

Check your local CDJR or GM dealer. I cut my keys at work using the key cutter. It’s the blue cartridge for the machine.

Lol we probably do. Its worse when the key gets jammed.
