Not mine, but very similar. Loved the '57 Chev styling.

Then you would have loved my first car.

I had a situation no 16 year-old should have: My neighbor worked at Sig Erson Cams and buily sprint car motors for fun. I'm lucky to have survived owning a 13 second, 4000 pound car with drum brakes. That's a '72 El Camino 12 bolt with 4.56's and a lincoln locker you're looking at.

And I bet you would love to have it back ;)

Sure wish I had the wisdom back when I was a young pup as I do now and would have kept that old mustang I had :D

I'd like to go back and b*@$£ slap my ex for selling off all my old Mopars and Chevs (cheapest one would be worth @$6K now and the hemi convertible would be worth about $80K. She sold them for a case of beer apiece!)

I bet most of you haven't heard of my first car. it was an 1984 plymouth turismo. i got it for free from my grandpa. had a sweet sound system that hit a 138db. then i bought my first new car after i knew that the turismo was about to blow up which was a 2000 pontiac grand am gt 4dr. that was a decent car till about the 4th yr i had it. stupid thing was in the shop probably 10 times. best sports car so far is my 04 Hyundai Tiburon, which i bought with only 230 miles on the clock . currently for the winter my 88 mj is great. I have had a few other vehicles like an 99 xj that had a gremlin, and a 94 s-10 blazer 4-dr.

hear the turismo is.

Third? '48 Willys Jeepster. Nice car. My first Jeep, have also had a '44 GPW and the present MJ.

My other passion is Lotuses. I have a '60 Elite, a '79 Esprit and a '91 Elan.

Hey IFIXIT8. My wife bought one of those Ply T's (79 I think) brand new. 1st weekend she had it we went to Oregon coast & it rained like hell. Footwells all filled with with water as the factory didnt get the seal around the windshield proper. She took it back with the water still in it & got her money back.

Mine was a 93 S-10 with a 2.8 V6 5 speed. I did alot of little crap to it and kept it clean but I didnt know much about cars then so I sold it as it was slow and being 2wd, sucked in the winter. I would have kept it knowing what I know now by lowering it and droping in a 350. I sold it to a kid and he trashed it, I saw it 2 years later and happend to have my camera on me, kind of made me sad.

I then got a 76 chevy K-10 pickup that I learned my love for bodywork hince why I am in tech school now for it. Then got a 78 C-20 with a built up 350 in it. After that I got a 2000 crown vic police interceptor, had that for awhile and sold that for my manche as I wanted a 5 speed. I also have my 90 Crown vic wagon that I redid in school and it currently getting ready for the 5.0 to be built up and to be bagged which you can see in my avatar. After I get all that done the manche gets lifted.

Here my first truck was when I had it.

Here it is a couple of years later after that kid screwed it up.

Not that you asked for pics...but I've only owned 7 or so, and here is a photo collage of all of them (only the pics in #4-#7 are mine)...

#1) 1978 Buick Regal...231 V6 - Most Oxidized Silver Paint you could ever see - Kinda like this, just silver and crappier... Purchased for $1200 with allowance money when I was 15 (1989ish). Rode like a floating couch!

#2) 1985 Nissan Pulsar - A pretty "fem" ride... But the stereo would blast out the wnidows (when it wasn't being stolen about 5 times)- Kinda like this, just baby blue.. uggg

I don't think I've contributed to this thread yet, so here goes. My first car was when I was 14, it was a '56 caddy that I bought for $50. It's sole purpose was to be used in a demo derby. Did quite well too. The first car I bought for road use was when I was 14 as well. It was an '84 Dodge Shelby Charger; 2.2L turbo 5 spd. I could smoke the tires into 3rd gear with that thing. Because of that fact, it made me some good money on bets. :brows: I've "owned" too many cars and trucks to count throughout my derbying days. And if some of you remember, I also used to race dirt track with a '93 Ford Escort wagon (R.I.P.) that got totaled, and landed me in the hospital for a good deal of time. Now, I'm just sticking to my MJ's and loving every minute of them. jamminz.gif
