Got an absolute score today! Won’t shift into 5th so I’ll need to do some digging and possible rebuilding.

Now to decide wether or not to swap input shafts on the tc or just find one… Those snap rings are a pita.

Aaaand just realized it's an ax4... I didn't do the proper research and investigating when I purchased. It was listed as an ax-15. Fortunately I only paid $100 (+$100 in gas) so not a total loss, but enough to be crowned stupid for the week.

Well, been working on the topper/camp setup a bit. Slow progress, but moving. Last piece of the topper is the trimlok that I don't want to install, but has to be done.

Still a ways to go for the bed portion such as drawer, shelving, etc... but we're getting there. Opted not to paint the topper. It needs some fiberglass work in a few spots and I don't want to spend the money polishing a turd just to fix it later on.

The Comanche Camper has been getting some work done. Got the skeleton of the bed & storage done. Then added some power. Lots more to do, but I'm currently writing this from dispersed BLM in the Uintas, so clearly it's working lol.

Well, uhhh I believe these are supposed to be a part of a TC output shaft bearing.... They were hanging out on my garage floor. Which is perplexing seeing how it's sealed... Unless came from somewhere else that I'm not thinking of. They were dry which also was odd.

I've got a metal-to-metal type sound above ~2.4k RPM that started 2 days ago. Haven't driven since the noise. My FT 4wd grinds nicely to compliment.

Perfect timing as I am supposed to be driving it up to Yellowstone next week :sad2:

Determined the vibration is from the motor. I bet I stressed the mounts just enough when lowering the trans to swap the TC out. The front of the motor shakes quite a bit and the rear is pretty stable. I can only assume it's because the trans mount provides enough support.

I've also got two trans mount bolts that just spin once tightened which is most likely causing my high-torque buckling issue. The trans isn't tight enough to the mount (which needs to be replaced, but for ~$80 I might save that toward an ax15). I should have taken teflon and wrapped the bolts but only just now thought of that lol.

The looseness at the mount could allow the drivetrain to lift under torque and create driveline vibrations. Make sure to double check your crank balancer for coming apart also.

Thanks. All good on those fronts. I just ripped the mount when servicing. The vibration is purely from the motor.

On the other hand. I no longer have the weird high torque issue with the TC/Trans banging around. Switching back to the 231 seemed to have solved that. Whether it's from installation process or the TC itself, I'm not sure, but it works! I have been climbing tough mountains in 1st and 2nd gear with absolutely no issues at all. I'm actually really impressed with the BA10/5 because it performs so well compared to what everyone says. It's nice when everything (except motor vibrations) works! :L:

WJ Brake Booster parts came in today. Check valve and boot need to be replaced. Plus I bought some line to bend my own since it didn't come with the flexible WJ lines. Otherwise got both for a great deal and will install as soon as the WK2 is done in the garage which should be sometime this weekend.

Did you happen to buy that header panel from a pull it yourself yard, off of an older blue XJ?

I bought the Main panel from a JY down in Grand Junction off a white XJ. All of the trim pieces were bought online.
