These days we have spelling checkers but lazy people still mix up homonyms (there/their/they're, your/you're, moot/mute, etc.) so it's not much better. It is however named after the Comanche indians who were native to that area and according to the history books, the guy who founded the town misspelled Comanche when he named it. My grandparents lived there for many years and just recently moved to Davenport. My mom and uncles grew up there and I even lived there for a few years before my parents got a house together since they were still in highschool. Nice little town.
