and don't say "Everything" as I can't afford to do that.  But there's a 2.5 with AC in a junkyard near me and I really don't remember what all is unobtainium.  :dunno:

Air cleaner up to the bonnet. The hose is kinda irreplaceable if it falls apart and the air box is different from the Renix 4.0L. Valve cover if it sports the AMC logo on it. Otherwise dasbulliwagen covered the other stuff unless you pull the whole exhaust/intake.

Optional can be the PS stuff.

is the AC compressor unique or just the brackets?  how about the AC hoses?  are they available aftermarket?

Brackets are unique, hoses kinda are unique as I have seen there doesnt seem to be a consistent hose used, but they can easily be remade(by o'reillys or whom ever is preferred) if someone had them in their possession.

Compressor is not unique.

The TBI and the wiring clip/harness that attaches to it, along with the idle stepper motor.....or just grab the whole TBI.  Power steering pump has a remote reservoir, A/C bracketry as mentioned, and the MAF sensor (if you can get it out of the manifold without breaking it).

I've mentioned it before, but I have a complete 2.5 long block sitting up in a barn in PA that I picked up from a NAXJA guy (Danno) several years ago.  It's free for anyone that can take/use it, but the only caveat is you have to go pick it up.  Came out of a clean running 87 MJ when he transplanted a V8 into it.  Probably should change the oil in it before firing it up though

I'm back.  :L:  managed to snag the entire throttle body assembly, manifold sensors, airbox top, airbox ducts, AC bracket (one bolt hole is broken off but I have it), distributor, and some other little things.

they wanted far more for the pump than I could pay

pump reservoir was broken

bottom of airbox was broken

coolant tank and cap were both broken

tried to charge me a total of 36 bucks for a cheap old air horn assembly.  I politely declined.

Noticed on this trip that there are 3" spacer blocks for the rear lift and bolt/clamp spreader things on the front coils.   eek.

I can't see from the picture.....but does it have an under hood light?

I had an 87 Larado that had one that was detachable with an auto-wind cord so it worked like a trouble light

I don't know about you, but I've never seen a 4 banger XJ or MJ at the junkyard yet, so I would have grabbed that radiator, being exclusive to that body style. Engine parts don't worry me since you can also get some from YJs.

Pete, good job on saving some of those hard to find parts.

And, reminder that the 4cyls often have more desirable axle gear ratios for those going with bigger tires.
