WahooSteeler
Starting to see more and more OE Gladiator parts for sale as people are modding these rigs right off the lot. LOTS of Rubicon wheel sets and suspension pieces out there, and prices are coming down. Curious if anybody has put a set of these wheels on their MJ and/or have a picture of one they can share. I'm pretty sure I saw a picture recently but can't remember where. I love my 15" Ravines and how they look on an MJ. Most of the modern OE wheels look out of place on an MJ to me, but it also depends on the overall look of the truck and sometimes it jives with me. Hell, I've got a set of Turbines waiting to be cleaned up that I've considered swapping to. All that said, it seems clear that 17's are definitely the most common wheel on Jeeps now and there are a ton of tire sizes available on 17's. There are some super cheap deals on wheels and/or tires out there as new owners are immediately doing substantial upgrades on tires and suspension. After dropping $50-60k on a Rubicon and another $6-10k on mods, I'm seeing several listings with the "just get it out of my garage" pricing on it. Earlier today I saw a set of 4 online with only a claimed 1000 miles on them for $250. For that kind of price it's tempting to grab a set "just in case" for later. Pics are the standard Rubicon wheel and the other one is a Mopar Performance Parts wheel that I think would look awesome on an MJ.

IMHO the offset just looks ugly. (Not bashing the rest of the truck, I dig it, just wheels don't do it for me) Those performance wheels would look good. Old TJ rubi moab wheels look great. Probably the only stock wheel I'd run.
WahooSteeler
Smokey, I agree the current OE wheels need more offset. Not a fan of Moabs on an MJ either, yet I do think they look good on 97+ XJs.

75sv1
Yup, knew there would be the need for adapters.......... or WJ Big Brake upgrade, and use the WJ Hubs. On the rear, Ford 8.8 with Yukon shaft upgrade and use the 5on5 bolt pattern. I have done the front on one of my XJs. Working on the rear. Also, some states adapters are not road legal. I will agree with WahooSteeler, Depends on how the rest of the Jeep is dressed as to if the rims look good. Also, if the rims overpower the looks of the Jeep. I really didn’t like my wheels to stick out and between the necessary adapter and the oem backspacing, the wheels are right at neutral. I was thinking along the lines of method or raceline wheels though. May change that out down the road. Here is a closeup of the wheel

Just the subtle difference of having some detail on the spokes and a little more offset. They are similar to Mammoth Boulders which I also really really like. SCguy has them on his MJ and they look excellent IMO. I like the Icons on a stock MJ but not aggressive looking enough for my taste on lifted rigs with 31s or larger. Plus, they are 16" wheels and the real point of my post was about 17" wheels since if I ever change out my Ravines, I would definitely do 17s because there are so many more choices for both wheels and tires. ghetdjc320
@75sv1 are you running stock size wj brakes and Akebono 2-piston calipers or something else? Never seen a big brake kit for the wj but that would be a neat upgrade if doing the knuckle swap

Never seen a big brake kit for the wj but that would be a neat upgrade if doing the knuckle swap Presently, I have 3 XJs and an MJ. I have been running the WJ Big Brake upgrade on a '98 XJ for at least 3 years. The first couple of years I was on R15 Canyon rims. I had to run spacers. About a year ago I switched to 17" JK rims. On the front I just change to a WJ hub bearing unit. No spacer was needed. On the rear I am using a spacer/adapter presently. I also have Chevy 1-ton cross over steering. I am working on a '00 XJ presently. I am installing a 2" lift. I had extra WJ knuckles, so this one does have WJ Big brake too. I am using the NAPA Adaptive pads and Reactive rotors. They look good installed. I am using 07-08 Dodge Nitro rotors. I used them on the '98 XJ too. Not the Adaptive One, though. I did have to add a washer spacer (1/16) to clear the anti rattle clips. 15" steels did not clear. I did test the R16 Icons. They did clear. I will agree, that looks are part of the equation. I did run 31's on a 4.5 lift. They did look a bit small. The 32.5s with JK rims look much better. The original posted rims would look awesome with the right setup. Also, the right 'bling'. On the MJ, I've stalled out for so long. Hopefully soon, I can do something with it. I have planned a Dana 44 from a FS GC with passenger side drop for it. I would guess a WJ Big brake would be doable with the D30 axle. Someone did a larger Big Brake. I think Cobra Marty. Dodge Dakota calipers and Mustang 350 rotors. It used the older AMC knuckles or spindles.

WahooSteeler
I will say in response to my original comments of Moabs on MJs, I DO think they can look good when blacked out and against a dark paint and possibly other combinations, but I am very picky about them still. Oh well.......
