Ls2xjcomanche
Do any of you know what this part is called or a part number for it? I haven’t had much luck finding it online. Thanks!
Strokermjcomanche
I've got a whole bunch if you need one, I can also get you the part number when I get home. Just an FYI grand Cherokee ZJ uses the same plug as well.
fiatslug87
Maybe #18 (55006632, Waterdam Hole Cover)?
Gjeep
55002368 Know that what Team Cherokee sells as this is not correct. Don't think this part is available any more, so wrecking yards it is.

No, the plug the OP is asking about would be in the body plugs section of the catalog. I’ve never seen #18 before in person.

I’m going to be swapping out my door handles soon and the plugs were starting to crack when I was prying on them. Mainly wanted some peace of mind in the event that I damage the plugs when I remove them. Thanks for all the information and links as well. It’s awesome how much knowledge members on this forum have, and even more so your willingness to share. Thanks again! I should have some chrome door handles available for cheap in the near future if anyone’s interested pm me.
JMO413
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I believe you want part # 55005259 it's number 12 in this picture. I have looked for them before and they are discontinued. If anyone has somewhere to get them I would be interested.
boxyjeep
On a similar topic, does anyone know where to get replacement firewall grommets? I pulled my Cruise Control and need to seal that hole, and also my speedo cable grommet is shot.
JMO413
Today I am glad I was wrong. I was ordering weather strips from vintage parts and ordered 2 of the plugs. They are correct I think the catalog has the pictures wrong. Pair of part number 55002368. The AMC part number stamped in it is 8955002368. So 55002368 would be the Mopar number. Glad I bought some and was wrong about the number. Vintage parts shows 37 On hand.

WahooSteeler
I learned the hard way a few times a while ago.......rely on the part description more than the picture. "Door latch plug".
