Pick it! This is a random skill I learned having to open my employee's cabinets when they lose their key and being locked out of other things. I've built picks out of paper clips and it's scary easy to get some of these locks open. Seriously....I opened our sentry lock box with a nail file. Other day someone accidentally tossed a document in a shred bin no one had a key. Less than 10 minutes it was opened. That was a name brand pad lock too.

Has your door locks been swapped at some point? Usually the door and glove box locks are the same key unless one or the other has been swapped.

yes, previous owner did it.  I actually had truck shipped to me and title is in there and driver forgot to give me that key... so it's kind important lol

I'm afraid I might get in trouble if I learn that skill LOL, but honestly, I might try that.

If I get impatient though, can I just squeeze the crap outta the handle deal and break it and buy a new one for cheap?

It's what I would do to start.

Here's a good start

I'd avoid breaking stuff but I get that logic......

In general you should never purposefully break anything on these trucks. Parts are scarce and its getting worse as the years go by. You never know (or at least I have trouble knowing) if the part I just broke is a $1 best buy at rockauto or a $300+ ebay item that shows up one or twice a year. Besides, enough things on your truck will break that you didn't mean to do that its worth not adding to your "fix it" list. IMHO anyways.

I agree with this.  YouTube has plenty of tutorials on it.  I've done it just for fun on padlocks, not hard at all.

thanks guys, gonna try my luck with lock pick, and if I can't get the hang of it I'll go see a locksmith.  Was hoping I could just remove the glove box or something easily, guess that's not really an option.
