CoastChief
Swapped out the old fender liners for new ones. Spent most of the time fighting the non OEM plastic to line up with most 6/8 push pin holes. The two top ones would not fit, but Ill take a heat gun and work them along the wheel well. Drill a new hole into the liner. Broke one of the mounting nuts clean off not paying attention. Guess that’s what I get for rushing through. I knew it was going to happen, could feel the socket heating up from the metal twisting. overall I’m happy with the fit of these, found a random cap that fell into the door space. Couldn’t find what it covered.

CoastChief
I am almost at 10 months and over 10,000 miles with my Jeep. I really can't say I love any other car iv owned more than this truck. Its been so useful from moving hundreds of pounds of material, to fragile objects, gas milage, towing a kushman, roofing kayaks. Its has been my " do all daily" and I can't ever stop obsessing over its looks day after day. Most cars iv owned kind of loose their " new car" fun feeling after a few months. I still have tons of fun driving my Jeep everyday traffic/ or cross country. Thanks to a some patient friends @SoCalManche@Pirate_Staz @eaglescout526, and my own intuition. I am learning slowly, but surely about my Jeep and its quirks. What I should be paying attention to, and looking out for in the future. I have also learned that with no A/C.... its not smart to take girls on dates in the middle of summer. Getting out of my car with a big sweat rectangle on my back..... I have only had one serious scare recently on the freeway my water pump failed. Engine shot up too 270 id say. White Smoke, Loud pop from my upper radiator hose popping off........was a good time...never really want to overheat the old girl again. Still feel guilty for that happening to the Comanche. So I figured Id try, and start replacing some things. I replaced the Water pump - I replaced it along with my T-stat which I ordered a Gates 180 degree thinking it be good for the engine. Now understanding my mistake and the optimal operating temperature and its meaning. Ill be replacing it with a 195. INSTALLED- Gently used turbines with caps purchased from fellow Californians @fiatslug87 @Gjeep . Rotated and balanced. FAILED - replacement of speedometer cable- Cable still bounced and melted against exhaust. Will have to refer to others about proper lubrication ( currently using White lithium grease ) and cable slack routing. New hoses for the heater core Cleaned the throttle ( was holding idol randomly at 1000-2000 RPMS), flushed the coolant again to remove corrosion, ran Thermocure for 3 days. FAILED - I went to replace the pulley for the power steering I found where it mounted to was off center. The pulley had been damaged I assume by a claw tool used to remove it originally. I ordered a new power steering pump from rock auto made by BBB. New Cardone metal pulley / OEM Mopar from Canada is ABS plastic. NOTE- not sure how I feel about anything Cardone brand being on my truck, not the best brand for reliability. Cleaned my LAEC sensor with carburetor cleaner, seemed to function properly. Got a sweet new NOS - dash from @eaglescout526 ( to kind as always ) Just waiting for the switch cover plates from a recent purchase. ORDERED - Gates radiator hoses - ( Upper and Lower )

eaglescout526
What 89 said. But the SoCal you want to mention is SoCalmanche. Not sure who that other one is or if they are even on here much.
89 MJ
Those turbines made the truck. Also, do you know if the topper is MJ specific and a brand/model if it is?

Ranging from 1000-2000 rpms recently. been slowly investing in small parts to update her and get her back to perfect shape. Looking at replacing bushings and other wearables that you guys recommend. CoastChief
Hello, Everyone ! It’s been a very long while so I figured I would stop by and let you know I’m alive! My life has been very crazy since covid. I took a trip to upstate NY, loved it so much I stayed almost two months. I visited Corning, and parts of the Hudson. There I had sold some pieces and got some cash saved to move out of my parents. I have a brother who suffers from very severe mental disorders and it was becoming taxing on my own health. I would be constantly coming home with the “ what’s next” feeling. so, for 2021 I figured - might as well be my gamble year. thus far it’s been paying off to be more confident in myself, and abilities. moving to Los Angeles during the pandemic, 2 championships and a election was.......interesting to say the least. From the broken windows to blatant hypocrisy from the city folks. I cannot explain the level of insanity that is city life during a pandemic. I’ll see people standing shoulder to shoulder with masks on....wondering if that’s how basic biology works. My parents are in the deadly range so Iv been as safe as possible. I just put my head down and started filling the Jeep one load at a time. Bills started to come in so I got what I could together and started making artwork. With some measurable success, Iv been gaining traction. Now, I’m slowly getting a breath. Figuring out adult life, basic meals, bills, errands, boxing and unboxing. Phone calls and emails. Its so exciting to finally have time to really put into my Jeep again. - I apologize to anyone I may have been MIA on! Life can get moving pretty fast at times!
