Shiro Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Hi, I am looking for a radiator which does not have transmission cooler fittings( Original type) for my 1991 Comanche 6 cylinder, manual transmission. Napa and Advance Auto, they do not sell. Where can I buy the original type radiator? Thanks Shiro
Dzimm Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Is there a particular reason for one without? When I replaced mine, I just used one with the tranny lines and left them capped because it was a good price. I didn't look too hard but I didn't see any rads without the tranny lines when I was looking.
Minuit Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 I wouldn't expect you to find a radiator without them that isn't a new old stock original. You'll be perfectly fine using one that has the transmission cooler ports, you just won't have anything to hook them up to.
13 Legion Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Both of the above posts. Those fittings are capped off. There’s nothing to worry about.
Jeep Driver Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 I'm another one who doesn't want the useless clutter consuming volume in my tank. I'll have one built when I transplant the V8.
Limeyjeeper Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 By the look of it there were only two part nos listed for a 1991 LHD comanche 52004921 with max cooling and 52028134 without. So it appears that there was no manual transmission radiator offered. There was on the RHD version.
JMO413 Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 Agree with all the above posts. My 88 is a manual and the find are in the radiator for a tranny cooler. It's the normal manufacturer why build a radiator without them when they cause not harm.
Strokermjcomanche Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 52079693ad Is the part number you're looking for . As you've seen , most aftermarket companies make the radiator to fit standard and auto .
Dzimm Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 The factory did make a rad without trans fittings at one time. Here's the one I pulled from the truck with the Chrysler part number.
