shelbyluvv Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 Daughter #2 needed a car. I stumbled on this 99 2wd XJ for $500. It didn't run and had been sitting for 3 years. I found 3 cut wires and a bunch more chewed up by mice. I got it running then of course the fuel pump died. The interior was nasty. So we pulled the seats and carpet and started the cleaning process. Not a bad deal for a cheap beater car. I need a left rear flare and bumper cap. If you happen to see a chili pepper red XJ in the yard I need the painted flare and unpainted bumper cap. The clowns on eBay want $50 for just a flare, nope!
krustyballer16 Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 $#!&, that's what I was gonna charge you for a flare! Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk
shelbyluvv Posted October 29, 2018 Author Posted October 29, 2018 Why do people let their cars get so nasty? We'll have a bit of sweat equity it this thing but it will be a nice Jeep when it's done.

Considering the right rear passenger area is 5x worse than any other area, I'd place my bet on a child seat being in that position and lots of sippy cups and food being thrown on the floor. What did the bench seat look like in that spot?
shelbyluvv Posted October 29, 2018 Author Posted October 29, 2018 The whole carpet looked as bad as the right side. That is the during phase of the cleaning process. It still needs one more good cleaning tomorrow. This is the back seat.
Minuit Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 Yuck. I couldn't live with myself if I made a vehicle that nasty. Sure looks like it'll clean up nice though.
HOrnbrod Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 Man, that's disgustingly bad. Some people are just filthy slobs Bo... You gotta update your location mate: Location: 29 Palms, CA (30 mins from the Hammers!)
shelbyluvv Posted October 30, 2018 Author Posted October 30, 2018 This is probably the dirtiest, most disgusting Jeep I have ever bought. It will take some work to get it right but it will be a stunner when it's done.
shelbyluvv Posted October 30, 2018 Author Posted October 30, 2018 And just like that the Ford Cherokee was born! I got a smoking deal on some 2004 Explorer wheels with tires. A bit of grinding to open up the hub bore and they were on.
neohic Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 Ha! I’ve got a soft spot for those wheels on a Jeep! Going WAY back here:
