I have read on the forum about swapping the bench for bucket seats and so on. But while looking for new/used seats brackets I found corbeau has seat brackets for our mjs and I wanted to know if anyone has used them or have heard about them

Corbeau Seat Brackets

Pretty sure I've read a thread or two in the past saying that they do fit, but they're just not quite right. For that price you could get a nice set of OEM brackets and probably some seats to go with them anyway.

Where would you look for them?

the pic they show isn't of brackets we could use. :(  those might be for the older fullsize pickup.

The picture has some description that says like " this is not the actual product" or something along those lines

On here mostly. Every now and then a set appears. You could also modify your bench brackets. Of course the junkyard is an option too, but it's the luck of the draw whether you'll find one with buckets.

Can you give the years the xj curved vs xj straight were used, and if one sits higher than the other? And if there are any differences between xj vs mj brackets.

I've been keeping an eye for buckets with straight sliders. Was told the curve sliders will raise seat a couple inches.

The curved backs were an option until sometime after Chrysler bought Jeep. They were gone by 91 for sure. A well optioned early Renix or pre-Renix XJ should have them. I sat in a really nice XJ with them once - they were cool but not cool enough for me to bother swapping them into an MJ.

I have converted the 'curved' over to the MJ...............meh.............not impressed. But they'll be fine, I guess. As I stated in another thread, Corbeau is a grand$. $800 for the seats and $100 for each bracket.......or make your own.

The only thing that holding me back from Corbeau is being able the two-tone the seat, black and tan/camel color.

Either way, expensive.

You'll regret the cheapo Jeep seats..........every seller has them for $200 or so............don't bother.

I've got a MJ bench that is trashed but good brackets, what are you guys willing to pay?

2dr and 4dr XJs share the same flat floor, so their floor brackets are very different than MJs.  you'll need to mount the XJ sliders on the MJ floor brackets.  pretty easy to do.

but 2-dr XJ buckets do lean forward like MJ buckets (4dr do not), which makes them more desirable for us.  :)

What seat brackets would you use when going to replace the bench seat? When you say mj floor brackets, you refering to mj bucket or mj bench brackets? Do you even use any part of the bench parts when changing over to xj buckets?  I haven't even looked or seen  any mj bucket seats out of a rig.

the MJ bucket and MJ bench floor brackets are identical.

Ok, transfer xj sliders onto mj brackets. Got it. Sounds easy enough, now just have to keep an eye out for some 2dr seats.

Thanks

So I picked up a pair of buckets from a 2 door 95 Cherokee from a salvage yard. These seats have 2 separate pedestals per seat unlike the ones in the diagrams. Has anyone used these type and what would need to be done to get them to work?

1994 XJ bucket seats and below (not 95 as often posted here) will bolt directly to MJ bucket seat brackets. 1995 was the XJ seat design change, so mods must be made if you plan on using MJ seat brackets, or using your existing XJ brackets. Been done, but not by me.

I paid $150.00 plus shipping for mine and was happy to get them. Its said but as these trucks get older parts get harder to find the prices go up. Look at what tail lights bring.

And no those are not mine.
