I just bought a 90 MJ Eliminator, The guy I bought it from has put Cherokee rearend and springs under it so now the back of my truck sits about 4" higher, how can I fix this problem when I don't have the stock springs?

Pictures would be helpful. I don't think that cherokee spring would have physically been able to bolt up. I believe they are shorter

Yes, by almost 6".

I wonder if he added leaves from a Cherokee pack into the Comanche ones?  That would make sense to me, and would also explain some lift.

I saw a picture on facebook not that long ago and it was definitely XJ leaves on an MJ.  the shackle pointed forwards and was parallel with the leaves.  very bad.

ther are a couple manufacturers out there that make stock MJ leaves.  also car-part.com might be of help finding them in junkyards.  be wary of the used ones and inspect them thoroughly.  the leaves have a bad habit of cracking at the bolt.

I am very happy with my General Springs stock repalcement leaves.  Highly recommended.  New will obviously be more expensive, about $280 plus shipping (which was about $88 for me).

I talked to the guy I got my MJ from he said he only changed axel and went from under to over plus different gear ratio. So now I need to figure out what to do about that thanx everyone, tried to upload pic but was told file too big

Either go back to spring under or lift the front....coil spacers are an easy quick fix

putting the springs on top gives about 5-6 inches of lift.  how much lift is up front?   did he move the perches on the XJ axle?  XJs and MJs have their perches in different widths apart.

No such thing as an image too large. If your image host rejects it, find a better one.

When you're posting a pic, you aren't uploading it to this site. You're linking it in from somewhere else on the internet.
