Headliner, Bedliner and herculiner

Recommended Posts

So I need a headliner and I'm tired of my plastic insert Bedliner. My dad has linex in his Silverado and it's awesome. I would love to get some but it's $$$ and i can't leave my truck somewhere for a couple days cause I got to get around. My question is, is herculiner worth it and would it be good to put in the cab as a headliner? A lot of people say it doesn't fade to much and it's also a good insulator. Or should I just get linex and a actual headliner with sound dampening material? Thanks

I don't think it'll be a good enough insulator to keep the heat of the sun at bay.

if you go with hurculiner for the bed, be aware that prep is the key to adhesion.  follow the steps and don't skimp out on anything.

also, do NOT get any on your body or anything you care about.

Get the Replacement Headliner, unless you want your head to feel like it is in a Broiler, as you are driving.

As for the Bedliner, there are several out there, I like the Rhino, for the Colors, thickness & warranty.

There are a number of Liners for you to Apply. I have used POR15 paints, They work great, as described.

Whatever you do for the Bed, Do the Prep Work, as the Instructions Say.

i have heculiner in the cab of my wrangler.... I HATE IT. i would definitely not use it again. its incredibly rough and holds a lot of dirt that won't come out. id look into upol raptor liner. my buddy used it on his bed and it came out great!

I have used herculiner in the cab bed and body lines. The other users are right about it's roughness and durability. With the proper prep and coats mine has held up pretty well. For the price and simplicity of the install you can't beat it!

You saw the herculiner in the back of my truck.

Its dull, Ugly & starting to flake off (Yes i did prep VERY well)

Like the other two have said, Check into U-pol. It is a little more expensive than herculiner, but looks a lot better quality. (And you can mix paint to make it diff colors)

I used Herculiner on my old CJ7 and would not use the product again. I didn't have any problems with it holding up. But as mikekaz1 wrote it is extremely rough and hard to keep clean.

I actually just recently used Herculiner on my truck bed and I really like it. If I haul some nasty stuff or get it filthy in the wild, just a quick spray and done.

Wait about a month or two, It becomes dull, Rough & Pitted.

I'm coming up on my second month. Its faded a bit but I still have no issues with it. I think it's all in what it's used for. Mine's a farm/toy truck so it's not a big deal to me. If someone were doing it just for looks they might wanna reconsider.

I agree here. While all the comments about it fading and pitting are true (I had mine on a full year before re-coating it) It is durable, easy to apply on your own and cheap. Hopefully this thread will let someone know which product works for them!
