Little jeep Posted May 30, 2015 Author Posted May 30, 2015 Got the exhaust mounted up. Sounds good. A little quiet for my liking but not bad. They are mounted differently because of where the headers fall. The passenger side is pushed out because of the starter uploading pictures
HOrnbrod Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Also picked up 2 stainless steel magna flow mufflers from pepboys. $94.00 a piece but the lady screwed up and only charged me for one  Good job.
89eliminator Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 what spring rates did you go with for the rear coilovers?
Little jeep Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 what spring rates did you go with for the rear coilovers? Thanks guys I always like to hear what you guys think. The rear spring rates are 100/200. Front are 150/200. Really soft which allows for drop flex
89eliminator Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 what determines the ride height? is it the amount of nitrogen?
Little jeep Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 what determines the ride height? is it the amount of nitrogen? From my understanding the springs control ride height but I'm far from an expert
89eliminator Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 me too haha. I'm trying to keep the same ride height. some say the charge and some say the springs are what control the ride height.
Little jeep Posted June 15, 2015 Author Posted June 15, 2015 Cut apart 3 driveshafts to make one. Tried to bolt it up but the angle was just too rediculous so I had to cut apart the rear upper links and extend them 4.5". Now my whole rear is at a rediculous angle but the driveshaft angles are looking pretty good. Fabbed up a trans tunnel, punted the seat, finished the coolant lines, almost got the brake lines done, fabbed up the crossover steering bar and began mounting the hydro ram images hosting
Little jeep Posted June 18, 2015 Author Posted June 18, 2015 My buddy works at a forklift parts depot and hooked me up with a steering orbital. I fabbed up a steering column and threw it in yesterday. Still have to mount the Steering wheel. Gauges are in and being wired. It's going to be a photo finish but it could possibly move under its own power by Friday upload a gif
Little jeep Posted July 3, 2015 Author Posted July 3, 2015 Well she didn't make it to jeep invasion. Steering never got finished. But there was a monster truck there that you can take rides on and I was crawling around it taking pictures of his steering set up. So I will change mine to copy his and hopefully that will solve my problem image upload no limit
Little jeep Posted September 10, 2015 Author Posted September 10, 2015 Sorry I haven't posted in a while. But she is driving!!!the orbital I had originally used was a 5 port which is no good for this application. I picked up a 4 port trail gear orbital from eBay for about $400 with shipping and now I can turn it with 1 finger! upload img I drove it around town and it was terrifying. The franken-driveshaft I made was neither straight nor round. I tried to move it in my yard the next day and sheared the bolts for the straps on the t-case yoke. So it was time to lower her. I steered away from a mud truck/crawler crossover and I'm going full crawler. I picked up some brand spankin new 38 tsl's on hummer rims with new centers, beadlocks and pvc inserts from Massachusetts. Then I remounted the rear shocks top and bottom. Tomorrow I will remount the front. Gotta say I'm loving this new look and I can't wait until she's trail worthy and I can take her to Rausch creek free photo upload

neohic Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Any plans for raising the control arm mounts at the frame? With the truck on 38s, they sure look like rock anchors.
89eliminator Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I agree. I think you are too far commited to mud truck land to make a change to crawler. That whole subframe should be removed in my opinion.
teamsmith Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I think it's awesome that you're building Hammerheads' truck from Playstation's Twisted Metal. When are you going to mount the flamethrowers on the hood? To follow the 'madness' theme of this build; I think a giant water cannon with a 100 gallon reservoir in the bed would be awesome for one of those mud bog resorts. Driving around shooting people with water, hilarious.
Little jeep Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 the sub frame will be shortened. Thanks for the input
teamsmith Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I do love this build and enjoyed reading how you made so much progress so quickly. I was looking forward to see it drive over K-cars and the previously mentioned flame throwers. I struggle with the simplest of tasks compared to what you get done in a weekend.
