GM still retains the rights to the Hummer brand, so it could happen. I'm guessing if it does happen, it would be built in house by GM and not by AM General. I think the relationship between GM and AM General is probably over.

The article is recent even if the used an old pic.

The H2 was on the gmt900 platform.... same as the Tahoe/Yukon.

The H3 was on the gmt355 platform.... same as the Canyon/Colorado.

Only the H1 was an AMGeneral design.

Unless GM can come up with a better starting point than either of those used for the H2 or H3 it won't matter what it looks like. They will have no off-road chops.

If they build it right, I'd drive one. Build a lwb version info a small but capable pickup, solid axles, 4 links at both ends. It'll be like an AEV Brute but factory. They just have to build it for the off road crowd and let the mallcrawlers buy it because it's cool, rather than build it for mallcrawlers and hope offroaders will buy it. That means no torsion bar ifs nonsense, preferably a real frame, give it the new Colorado diesel option AND a v8 option. And make the body/roof modular so you can go topless, wagon, pickup, slant back, err cetera.

The last gen Colorado/Canyon did have an SUV variant, but only in the forum of the Hummer H3. I doubt they could call it a proper Wrangler competitor without a short wheelbase version, though. I frankly wouldn't mind a SWB two-door H3...

The picture has the hummer badge on it...

The picture is of an old Hummer concept from before Hummer was deaded.
