I know this may sound stupid but are comanche's SAE or metric fasteners?, Ive run into mostly torx, but plan on replacing everything I can with hex and plan on carrying tools in my truck but don't want to carry things I don't need, thanks in advance.

Most stuff in my experience is metric but there's always the odd english size thrown in there just to mess with you. If I had a choice between only using one set, I'd say I use metric more often for the stuff I do (never opened up the engine for example)

When you do it'll be with SAE sizes. Far less SAE on my XJ but still the odd bolt. My 88 is about a 50/50 split, but the last month I've been working in the engine bay and front clip.

Under the hood the accessories bolt to their brackets with metric bolts while the brackets bolt to the engine using SAE bolts. Most everything else is metric except lug nuts which are 1/2x20.

You need both. For vehicle carry, I picked up a mid-size tool set from Sears on sale that includes both SAE and metric sockets and combination wrenches. I leave my full toolbox stuff at home in the toolbox. Christmas will be coming soon -- Sears will have tool sets on sale.

One example - 91 Eliminator - cruise control - the bolts that hold the actuator bracket to the inner fender are SAE - the studs that mount the actuator to the bracket are metric. I suppose there was some logic involved somewhere in the design/assembly process but, maybe not.

Two bolts for the starter, both in different directions. One threads into the bellhousing, the other into the starter. Only one of them is metric.
