BIGHEEP
I keep going back and forth on wether to lower or lift my MJ. I have the parts to do both but honestly a lifted MJ would be more practical for me. Since I have a good set of 31" tires on rims from my YJ I will be sticking with those for now. So post some pics of MJs with the SOA/31" combo and give me some motivation to finish mine.
89eliminator
its going to look weird.
Dadinator
Too much lift for 31's. Mine is on 31's. It was stock height and now 2" lift. 6" would look weird with that small of a tire.
COMJNUT
mine has 31's
BIGHEEP
I have found 2 Comanches in the project section so far with 5.5" of lift and 32" tires. In fact I used to run 32" TSLs on my old 6" lifted LWB. I don't think they look funny at all. I personally think a truck with a little bit of room in the wheel wells looks better then a truck that has the wheel wells stuffed with tire. Ideally I would go with a 33-35" tires but like I said I have the rims and tires. I am sure I will go bigger maybe next year if I come across a good deal. Dadinator
OK, I stand corrected. They look better than they did in my mind's eye. But I think I would go bigger with that much lift.
PEEJ
First off I'd agree, They look pretty good.Second,I'm an old school mudder,Got my first truck in 1979,It was a brand new Jeep J-10 Golden Eagle.I soon added a 4" lift and 35"mudders,(biggest lift available, body lifts wasn't invented yet,38S were the tallest tires you could get) Since then I've had many 4x4s,81 Power ram 35s,A 78 Power Wagon with a 440 and 44s, 83 CJ7 with 401 police interceptor and 44s,83 F.S.Cherokee with 360 and 38s a 79 G.M.C. with 44S.and a few more milder 4x4,I guess what I'm getting at is it takes a lot more fender clearance than a lot of people think to run a large tire properly if your gonna wheel it.If it's just gonna be a hyway truck that's different. Good example is my 79 G.M.C. 16" Lift Bushwacker cut out fender flares, tons of fender clearance,First time out I ripped a front flare off.Another example the 83 CJ7 looked great but the 44s came off and 17.50/35" Mickey Thompsons took their place.Guess what I'm saying is on a Comanche if your gonna wheel it.5.5" Lift and 31s or 32s is just about right.(In my opinion)
Jacob Ochs
I thought it looked good at the time, now I have 33x12.50r15 and I think my old 31s look weird, this picture it roughly 6 inches of lift with 31x10.5 hope this helped!
BIGHEEP
Thanks for all the pics guys. The trucks look great. I went ahead and lifted the front of my truck last weekend. I should have it completed this weekend.
