Finally bought a Wrangler. Still plan on DD'ing my 2wd, and hanging around here. I thought Comanches were fun, I'm having a blast with the new ride. It will be getting alot of my attention in the next few weeks. Put new shocks and control arm bushings in it yestrerday. Need to paint flares and the frame and do cosmetic things here and there. Some specs-didn't get the d44 I wanted, but super 35 with OX, Aussie in the front, regeared to 4.11, Warn bumpers and spare carrier, Tereflex 3", 1" body, Warn 9.5 ti winch, FXD tank skid and rocker protection. Got eveything I need, snatch block, tree saver, oba. Targa hardtop W/hard door tops bikini top, soft top, trail cover, the list goes on. I'm happy. :D

My Bro has a YJ and it had a few cracks in the fiberglass of the top when we got it. He and my Dad were able to patch it up just fine by gouging out the cracked areas really well and then filling them with new fiberglass cloth and resin. They were able to then sand those down and spatter it with some rustproofing before repainting the whole top semigloss black.

Last time I checked you didn't need to rust-proof fiberglass

The thing about wranglers (we don't actually call them that here :Canadaflag: ) is that they're all so darn expensive. My MJ was $1600 when I got it, a YJ of the same year and shape would be about $3500-4200. Otherwise I'd probably have one just to drop the top and windshield and go cruising down the highway.

For some reason Wranglers, be it CJ/YJ/TJ al fetch outragoues prices. I have seen total rust buckets with non running engines fetch 12-1500, which is just unreal. I really like the XJ for the price, and I try to buy evry xj/mj that comes along.

Speaking of money, my son was in the 4x4 Comanche today at Paddy's bluff today and he said a guy offered him $4000 for the truck. I asked him why he didn't walk home with the money.

I meant the soft top, see the little piece hanging in the driver's window?

I got rid of my TJ and built a MJ. jamminz.gif

The wife just bought a 98 TJ about a month ago though. It's just a baby Jeep with a 2" budget boost and 31's but I still get the open top, no door, street fun of a Wrangler but get to trail ride a real Jeep. :D

nice jeep. I got the same thing going on. A wrangler I wheel and a 2wd MJ for splitting dd duties. You got some nice tires there. I love my MTZs, they hook up real well. In regards to the top, there isn't a real cheap and easy way to fix it. I've never had to but some say take it to a nautical sail repair place, others say tailors, others say duct tape, and the only perfect way ... just put the top down. congrats.
