mpace6a
...or does this mj have an extra frame underneath it? Link: http://springfield.craigslist.org/cto/3764458343.html It says it has a dodge 318 in it...maybe they stuck it on a dakota frame...?

Geonovast
We should send TheDirtyJeep401 to go take a look at it.
gogmorgo
Yeah, there's definitely another frame under there. No way they separated the cab from the mj's chassis. The front end of it looks wrong, anyway.
lamart72
There was a Cherokee on a one ton Chevy frame like this locally a few years back. It had a big block with the radiator low in front of the grill. The inner fenders were cut away almost completely to make room for the engine. It had lots of potential but the owner just slapped it together for fun and never really finished it. I think it's still rusting away in a field near here. Someone should go check it out, I'm curious as to how he attached the frame to the mj

mnkyboy
That one was about $3500 with paint and everything. I also painted the truck while everything was apart.

mnkyboy
You don't know how hard it was to resist just putting frame rails in the exo and making a buggy out of it.

mnkyboy
I can't take all the credit, it was a joint effort with my brother. Usually he says how he wants to do it then I say how I want to do it then we argue for a while till we come up with something.
mpace6a
Either way some great work...just a curiosity, how much time do you think you had in just building it, no paint?
mnkyboy
It was spread out over a month or so since the customer wasn't in any hurry. If we worked on it everyday it probably took under a week to build.
BPB
That's nothing compared to the Samaria they built IMO
