maddzz1
Whats the average cost to have your widows tinted? Any specific questions i need to ask?
SW86
i paid right at 80 bucks for my two Z71 front windows to be tinted to match factory. 15% tint. pretty straight forward. they told me what the deal was, paid for it, watched them do it and 20 minutes later i was gone. sucks because you can't roll down your windows for a week (5 days)

AMCJeepMJ
I looked in to getting our Escape's front doors tinted to match the rest of the factory tinted glass, and its going to run me about $120 for high quality tint.
buffalob
I had the new side glass (both driver and passenger) and the new CR Larence slider done last spring. went straight from the glass installation to the tint place Paid $ 125.00 took about an hour and a half. looks great, and they offer a great waranty. I have had absolutely no problems with it. Went Limo dark on the back glass btw. check "the building of bucky" thread probably on the first page I can't remember. Probably got a good break on the price as it was the third vehicle I have taken there in a year.
SW86
i didnt have the bubble problem at all. i think maybe a few popped up the first day but that was it. i did get the haze for a few days though. I had to leave my Wrangler doors off and inside the house under a heat lamp to dry all the water bubbles for a week. It looks great now. i also got a 3 year warranty with my tint as well. just remember, going too dark will get you stopped, hassled and/or a ticket. however, you can always get a doctors note if you have eye problems, migraines or things of that nature to get away with tint darker than state law allows.
Lewt2007
i did 5% tint on both sides myself just got the install kit and two rolls of 5% dark at the local walmart and have passed several state and local police with it and have never been stopped for them being so dark
gogmorgo
5%'s not all that dark. I've seen lots of cars with that walmart stuff on them, and I've never really been impressed. Mostly it's the poor quality install (air bubbles, parts of the window left uncovered, etc) but it's been enough to turn me off the idea. Truth be told, I don't remember ever seeing a properly done install.

MtnClimber
I plan on doing my rear slider and 2 door windows with a DIY yourself kit. However, it'll be during the warmer months and I also plan on removing the door glass completely to get a no-edge finish. And the product won't be from china-mart. Sir_Brando
I assume this is for having it done professionally, but I just finished doing mine today. Since the comanche only has 4 pieces of glass(plus wings for pre-97 doors), I just got a roll online. Picked up some 5% from Windowtint.com here. I have the 97 doors so I got a roll 30inches wide. 10ft worked just fine and I have extra. The back glass is only 14 inches so the excess off the back made a great brow in the front. Cost was $19 for the roll, $8.90 for shipping, $2 for a squeegee and spray bottle from dollar tree, $8 for beer. This took a few hours but was well worth it for the low cost. Saved some money for some other parts. Quality is better than walmart and shipping was crazy fast. I'll post some pics if anyone is interested. 87Chief
I got my truck's windows tinted all 20% (except windshield) for $100.. Couldn't roll them down for 2 days. Looks great, quality stuff. Mine might be so cheap because I know the guy at the dealership, but... ;)
Blue88Comanche
we had 6 windows (just the side windows) done on my mom's KJ for about $100. I think the front 2 windows where 30% and the 4 back windows where 15%, it looked nice on the white Jeep
