1987 Lincoln MK VII Rims

Recommended Posts

hub centric or lug centric, that's the biggest problem.

The wheels are setup for tapered lugs, as are my factory steel wheels.

Doesn't matter. A lot of Ford rims are set up for tapered lug nuts, but they have a smaller center hole than AMC/Jeep rims and won't fit on an XJ or MJ without modification.

Offset is usually cast into the back of the rim like this

If you look HERE

it says that MJ rims have a centre bore of 71.5 mm and Mark VII is 70.3 so that is a difference of 1.2mm overall or just a little over .5mm all around. A file should pick it up image_209027.gif

Got any pics of the rims??

These are the rims I was thinking of. I'm looking for something from the late 70's to late 80's. There is no caps with them, but they were only used for a year then stored so their in pretty good shape. I thought I might be able to find a center cap that just covers the hub and leave the lugs exposed.

They are 15X7's

Sure, their cheap, and I want to keep the truck looking vintage. It's a street truck and my DD.

I've been looking wheels like these:

and these:

Both of which I think would look great, but I can not bring myself to pay more for wheels than I did for the truck.

I really suck at keeping my threads updated. So anyway here is an overdue update.

I finally decided on a set of wheels. 2 actually. Set one are 15x8 ION's with 30x9.5 daytons. The tires only had about 5k on them and still had hairs.

Set two are gold mesh from a cherokee limited. There not in the best shape, but the price was right and I got them for winter so I'm not too concerned.

TireRack also has a clearance sale on now. They were my next choice. Here is the link

ugly jeep wheels made to look half good actually!

What you mean "ugly" and "half good"? I resemble that remark.. :D :D

Never been a fan of that style rim, always found them ugly. Yours, in chrome, actually do look pretty good, considering I'm not a huge fan of chrome, or that style wheel.
