Maveric
I don't know if i should put this here or not, its just wishful thinking... I was looking through my Comanche manual and I noticed some upgrades that they had, like a factory hidden winch front bumper, brush guard, etc. I was wondering how rare is that sorta stuff? could I find it anywhere, factory or OEM doesn't matter much. also, how screwed up can a speedometer get with tires that are LT235 instead of what it rolled of with from the factory? (P215) and the manual said that the max was 225 so could I use those instead of the 215?

KYMJ
I found one here, on a truck with a blown motor. The guy decided to get it going. Still hoping to latch on to it. Of course, I never mentioned the front bumper, and he didn't ask why I was drooling. :D
DirtyComanche
also, how screwed up can a speedometer get with tires that are LT235 instead of what it rolled of with from the factory? (P215) and the manual said that the max was 225 so could I use those instead of the 215? 5%~. Which isn't bad considering it isn't accurate to 5% anyways. Lots of stockers run those LT235s (they're listed as being the largest tire that can be put on stock by most tire shop books).
jpdriver1
I've run lt235's since I bought mine seven yrs ago
Eagle
if you find the factory winch bumper, you are a GOD The hidden winch option was not a winch bumper. It used a 5000 pound Ramsey winch on an angle iron frame that mounted BEHIND the bumper. The bumper itself is a stock bumper with a slot cut in it. I never see them here in the U.S., but when I visit my wife's family in Chile I see them all over the place. Somewhere I have a dimensioned drawing of the winch frame. It mounts vertical, not flat, so unless you can find the special Ramsey winch that the factory used you have to "clock" the winch so the feet point toward the rear of the vehicle rather then down toward the ground. JeepcoMJ
i assumed as much. i did see one bumper with the hole cut for the winch, but nothing special on it otherwise. no winch behind it though :(. doing that mod doesn't sound too particularly hard...i may just decide to do it as I enjoy the stock look of my truck, but welcome the idea of being able to "help myself out". DirtyComanche
In my front leaf spring thread I show how my 8k winch mounts behind my bumper, under the rad.
Maveric
guess I need to go to Chille, or get it modded, now if i can get the fog lights, bed light, brush guard, sport bar, bed cover, factory rubber bed liner, and all the other extras that would be really cool. I bet ya if someone made these bumpers custom, in their spare time, they could fetch a good amount of money. anyone know of any other factory upgrades? gotta love the factory mods

JeepcoMJ
yea i like cw's setup, but that setup would affect cooling enough that I wouldn't feel comfortable...well, unless I switched the camaro fans for the 3.8 v6 in my truck to work with a switch rather than the computer. I'd rather be too cool with that setup than heating up...and a big winch cuts down on cooling when it's as hi as CW's. I like the behind-the-scenes look of the factory one. plus i've already cut my frame to fit the a/c pump in on the engine, and with the v6 I have the advantage of room up front. well, underneath the 4.0 radiator and custom header panel I built. I could do it easier than most i think in regards to room.

Maveric
went to earl sheib today, didn't like their paint options, anyone know anyone else that can match the factory blue and do a really good job? you know how jeeps are with their paint. JeepcoMJ
dark or light first of all, second of all, why blue? i had a cherokee with the light blue, and i hated the color. that's the color of the interior in my truck and i HATE it. then pop's MJ is dark blue, and it looks like @$$ we're goin with a similar paint job to THE YAK'S with a black upper l and lower body and a charcoal center of the body. i HATE jeep colors besides black and maroon...their white was even a wierd white. to each his own i guess
Maveric
dark blue with just enough gray to throw it off of actual blue, http://www.myspace.com/166059510 theres a pic of it on there, and my blogs on what I'm doing with it.
Oizarod115
this is the best jeep blue... dark metallic blue, his XJ was beautiful before someone scratched PENIS into the hood. its black now.
JeepcoMJ
nice Maveric, i actually like that. i added you on myspace btw...my name's Pat. now you have someone to read your bulletins :D i've never actually seen that color before...although I have seen the light grey that jeep offered and the charcoal grey. that looks like their light grey...it had sorta a bluish tint to it. I'm gonna redo it with a darker blue come summer, unless I wuss out or buy another time/money pit.
JeepcoMJ
that's the color my cabriolet was. hated that too. really, i think i just hate blue! some blues are nice...but i prefer black and white myself. or white and black. or maroon. or just plain black. or.... feerocknok
this is the best jeep blue... dark metallic blue, his XJ was beautiful before someone scratched PENIS into the hood. its black now. That's a fine blue to me. It's a subtle color, and doesn't scream look at me, or look feminine. Someone scratched that into my GMC when it was covered in mud, but they were just writing it. I know who it was, and it was an accident to get it scratched in. And then an idiot friend of mine thought manual hubs were $#!&ty cause "you have to get out of the truck to turn em", and "they don't use em anymore so they must be weak"... He wrote "dumbass hubs" on the fender in mud. "Dumbass" stayed. That truck used to be nice.
Oizarod115
yep feerocknok, that's exactly what happened. someone got over-energetic writing in the mud and scratched it all the way through the paint. it was GIGANTIC too.
Maveric
A better shot of my paint color, and a wee bit of the original vinyl, now if I can get that replaced...possibly...anyone have an opinion on that? also I was thinking of replacing the JEEP lettering in the back with solid gold ones, think jeepsticker.com could do that? of course this thread has gone from factory upgrades, to paint...odd that

Pete M
I still don't see anything and when I paste the addy into the address bar, I can't go to the page and it diverts me to the main myspace page. I could be wrong, but this leads me to believe that it's not possible to hot-link pictures from the page you're viewing.
