Wrz Posted February 3, 2013 Author Share Posted February 3, 2013 Knocked a few things off the to-do list, with lots of pics http://comancheclub.com/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/smile.png Picture of the new oil sensor installed Removed the oil pan for a cleaning and new gasket Before After Installed halfway ( have 3 broken bolts in the block, 2 from the po and one from me, still need to figure out a way to fix it ) Got my new 140amp alternator, Bought off ebay for $118 shipped, direct bolt in with no mods needs And Installed Fuel rail before Wire wheel does wonders, All polished up and ready to be installed New upgraded fuel injectors, bought off ebay for $110 Swapped and upgraded sensor fo gauge swap Installed Hit the valve cover with another coat of paint, Later model valve cover gasket Upgraded the engine block ground with a taylor one, little bit of over kill but it works for me And everything installed Man can't wait to finish the drivetrain and get everything all bolted in so i can start on the body and axles Waiting for my torque converter to get back from the shop, Seals are all done but apparently my converter was shot Previous total- $1691.25 Oil sensor- $15.99 Oil pan gasket- $20.99 Alternator- $118 Injectors - $110 Temperature sensor- $15.59 Valve cover gasket- $26.39 Taylor engine ground $7.99 Cost to date- $2006.20 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Comanche County Posted March 8, 2013 Share Posted March 8, 2013 There should be a single 10mm bolt in the middle of the firewall connector. Its kinda hidden, just use a 1/4" ratchet and 3" extension to get to it. Remove it and you should be able to shimmy the connector apart. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Havent been able to work on the comanche due to the weather and having a tenant living above the garage lol Curently working on a few projects at the girls house Picked up a later xj dana 30 from a 99 All the unwanted/garbage parts in a pile Started to grind down the passenger side Will hopefully finish grinding her down tomarrow, then a fresh coat of paint and the upgrades and installs come stay tuned :popcorn: Previous toal- $2006.20 Dana 30 axle - work perk :) New total - $2006.20 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Wrz Posted March 15, 2013 Author Share Posted March 15, 2013 Tackled the passenger side ball joints these last 2 nights, Have to say what a pittta they were, After my c clamp would not tighten anymore i ended up heating, crc freeze off and nothing did the trick, Who would have knew a few hits on the side with a hammer would have did the trick :dunno: The drivers side should go more smoothly as i picked up a few tricks lol Removed both ball joints I even resulted to the grinder to help before the hammer trick Spicer Ball joints part # 706944 Won them in a auction on ebay for cheap $30.50 shipped ( lower joint is in the process of being installed, not in picture ) No too many of the install as it was pretty straight foward Also cleaned the inside of my axle tube, Alot of dirt and rust in there Should have it all buttoned up and finished by the weekend Previous total $2136.23 Passenger Spice Bal joints $30.50 Cost to date- $2166.73 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Also cleaned and painted my trans and t-case Trans before Cleaned and painted Now on to the good pics :drool: Very happy with the way the paint came out and dried, Have a few small areas to touch up, but overall was good Plans this week are to clean/paint and change the joints in my drive shafts Get the mtor and tanny bolted together Check all the under hood wiring ad start re assembly Now the fu begines stay tuned Cost to date- $2387.23 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Thanks, I used high temp engine paint on the bay and did 2 coats. As far as prep work I used grease lightening and whipped everything down the best I could, I also used the same paint on the fender braces.
