  1. would have to be for a 1996xj since i did a obd2 swap
  2. been a while since any updates, but ive been lurking weekly. The comanche hasnt gotten better and ive changed just about every sensor with oem stuff. I finally narrowed it down to bad wires. Bought a 96 xj to do the obd2 swap. The plan is to take the complete harness from headlights to tail lights, and complete dash and swap her in. Been about 2 weeks and have the donor completely stripped and the dash and engine bay stripped on the comanche. During the process i found over a dozen duct tape splices in the engine and dash harness  damn po's Got the engine harness just about finished, just need to redo a few grounds. Here are some pictures, but nothing too crazy Sad comanche stripped and primed for some paint Fresh paint, New bottle and painted bracket Donor during harness labeling ( before pic before i took it out stripped mj dash Was really hard to actually start stripping snce i put soo much time and money into her, but was usless not running right On a good note i did end up buying a new aluminum 3 core radiator, silicone hoses, dual battery harness, and have a few more goodies sitting in the shed and at the powder coaters stay tuned better pics to come this weekend
  3. Hey limeyjeeper that cover looks good, Did you cut the inserts for the roll bar or you order it like that? thanks
  4. Looking foward to seeing some pictures, been looking for one for awhile as well
  5. Been looking for a spare jeep to drive while i work on the comanche 1998 Jeep grand cherokee 4.0 Came across this gem at my local auction, did not know much about it besides the pictures on the site and that it ran Looked it over in person and it was super clean under and inside besides a saggy headliner. Not a drop of rust anywhere Ended up winning it for a total of $1525 with fees and tax ect Picture from iaai site The main reason why i bought it As soon as i got it, it would overheat in gear only and i had no heat Few hours later i found the culprit Now runs great and have heat Also changed the front & rear sway bar bushings and rear end links Thats pretty much it for now, Waiting on my new shocks and some other misc parts to arrive
  6. no real updates, the Comanche will be down for a few weeks while i do a obd2 swap on it. Been having some wiring issued and figured i will as well do the upgrade. Here's a picture from yesterday of my mj that conquered the 2+ft snow with ease will have more updates this weekend as i start the tare down
  7. :thumbsup:Thanks appreciate the response, just wanted to confirm
  8. bump anyone :dunno: before i pull the trigger and buy it
  9. Well my comanche has been giving me problems for the last couple months, After countless hrs of trouble shooting and changing parts ive been debating on swapping out the harness. I found a great deal on a 96 xj that would serve as the donor for the interior and engine harness Parts already installed on current setup 1990 lwb pioneer 4.0 aw4 1996 xj head 2001 intake and throttle body 1996 manifolds 96 booster I know i will have swap the fuel pump and most of the sensors ect My question is will i have to change my fly wheel, and will i be able to still use my aw4 trans and np231 t-case ( renix error ) if i swap over all the electrical, computers ect? I know this will be alot of work doing the swap, but do not want the renix set up anymore thanks input would be great thanks
  10. in the process of gathering some parts to convert to mj in the spring to obd2, I have access to just about all the other parts, or have time to find them except the pump assembly Has to be for a 91-92 jeep comanche with a lwb Working or non working is fine since i will be sending it out to get refurbished if you have an extra or are willing to part with one shoot me a pm paypal ready
  11. not much to update on, still getting my @$$ kicked by the jeep. can't figure out why its running super rich. I have collected a decent amount of goodies over the last few weeks for it After getting my license plates stolen i decided to get some custom ones, and used some led bolts to secure them shot with the lights on going to get the exhaust moved towards the right more so its not right under the plate got my sliders in a few weeks back and finally had some decent weather to get a coat of primer on them hopefully we get a warm day over the weekend so i can get some paint on them Also have a superwinch, dual battery wiring, new rocker switchers, and some more misc items that need to be installed more to come soon . :MJ 1: .
  12. Thanks I changed and tested the map, changed and adjusted the tps, the only issue I have now is a high 2200rpm at start up, and it seems to idle are 900-1200. Running rich and still loosing 100miles to a tank, but I, pretty sure the injector is the cause of a few of those issues
  13. Just saw this post now and decided to check my gauge on the fuel fail. I clicked the key forward ( did not start ) and the pressure was a 32psi. Within a few seconds the psi dropped and after a few minutes was all the way down to 0. wish i would have thought of this sooner before buying all these sensors, guess i have some spares for the future. Really appreciate it, now just have to try and get a replacement and figure which injector is the culprit.
  14. i can get the paint code of the truck tomorrow for you, Which underhood parts were you talking about?
  15. Small updates- changed o2 sensor and that fixed the random stall and for the most part mis fire i was having at start up After i swapped that my idle would not go down under 1500 under any conditions Bought a new iac sensor ( for an ho since advance did no stock one for my renix ) seems to have fixed the idle, but still surges to around 1200-1500 randomly still runs to lean from the exhaust smell I'm getting will update as more progress is made
  16. timeless- changed all the plugs, wires, and cap last week with no difference. i also unplugged the distributor to see if it was the stator going bad with no difference
  17. hey i checked all the grounds in the engine bay, ill have to double check the one behind the tail light. I installed a new o2 sensor when i had my exhaust installed, less then 5k ago.
  18. About 2 weeks about my jeep started to sputter when driving, check the plugs and had one that lost contact. Fixed This last week the jeep runs rough when first started and sounds like it has a miss, it boggs and sputters when trying to acellerate, and just when i feel its starting to run a little better it will randomly stall while doing 25, 50mph ect . Jeeps deffently running way to rich and i am now getting maybe 3-4mpg. After it stalls it will take a few minutes of cranking to finally start When running decent it will accelerate, but u can feel it tugging trying to get power I have a constant 30psi at the fuel rail when running ruff so far ive changed the following 4 spark plugs ( autolite gapped at 35 ) bosch spark plug wires tps sensor( adjusted also ) new cps map sensor Ive checked all the wires for breaks, and all the hoses are good with no cracks ect i am now at a standstill and do not know what to check next motor specs- 1990 block, 1995 xj head, 2000 xj intake manifold ect any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated thanks
  19. hey i could have sworn i posted pictures of the installs, but must have forgotten . Its a class 3 curt hitch reciever, i bought on ebay for $120ish shipped.
  20. Been awhile since an updates, Been busy with work. Ended up doing my oil pan gasket 3x before i figured out it was my oil filter housing leaking the whole time..lesson learned Finally got my rear bumper welded, painted and installed over the weekend Also tossed on a gibson tip for some bling ha Here are some pics sanded primed Few coats of hammered black and some clear Really like the way it fits and hugs the bed for protection. Still have to drill holes for my license plate and lights Also have some other goodies to install, and am waiting for my sliders to be shipped. more to come as always
  21. How do you like it? Does it rub off? Does it smell? Hey they smell for like the first day and then their good. I've tried to get it to rub off on my white shirt to make sure it was safe for my other half and have not had any issues. My only complaint is the vinyl gets sticky end. Hot out but not too bad
  22. I checked today and the it bubbles did get smaller, makes me feel better lol
