shawn
537 votes is what GW won florida by in 2000. Blue88Comanche
mmmm . .. still not seeing how ..... http://thenextweb.co...altering-votes/ machines are prone to error, and it was bound to happen sooner or later. have you ever used an ATM that would not click where you wanted too? My voting location used pen and paper, the paper was then scanned into a machine, but i can see a problem with that system as well. My scanner at work scans black lines on the doc if i use the document feeder tray, and it requires frequent cleaning to prevent it. ultimately there is not a system that can be 100% reliable, as every method can have its own flaws. gogmorgo
As a US citizen only because my Dad was, I felt it was something of my duty to vote. However, then I looked into voting from outside of the country and discovered that I must vote in the county in which I last resided. Quite a clever way of excluding people who've never lived in the US from voting. My two cents as an outsider with a vested interest is that while I would typically consider my politics fairly right of centre, Obama seems to have done some decent things, and the republican candidates of late have pretty much all been jokes. In the last Canadian election, I voted Conservative, (essentially Republican) because the leader of the Liberal party (usually pretty moderate) didn't really seem to give the posterior of a disease-bearing rodent about anything other than becoming Prime MInister, and the NDP (essentially Democrats) were pretty much laughable. Voting Green is irresponsible, and voting for any of the other umteen parties would have just been pointless.

JeepcoMJ
intriguing. first time I've heard of obama having done "good things"....and I actually live here. very interesting. I must find out what "good things" have happened in the last 4 years.....can't be obamacare, since we all know that doesn't work in any other country (at least not properly). trillions of dollars in defecit that did not exist prior to his taking office... nothing about hurricane sandy was positive....no one was prepared. humm. one american ambassador and 3 marines dead because of an executive order to not send aid....that's not good. and we shouldn't have been there anyways...libya is the worst place in the world for an american right now. let's see....students in america are getting 50% less food at school than they should be, especially for athletes. thanks michelle obama. In a VP debate, his right hand man laughed and smirked about horrible events and serious matters...what a dirtbag. Please understand that I don't think they're bad people...I just can't vote for a failure.
jimoshel
The new King was sitting on his throne, holding his very first King session. He told the gathered masses how it was going to be. One man stood up and and said "I disagree". The King pulled his pistol and shot him. The King ruled for 53 years without one single dissenter. :laughin:

gogmorgo
I'd say the recovery of the US economy, albeit slow, after the disaster left by previous presidents (of both parties) has been a "good thing". I'd point out that the Canadian economy did not suffer to quite the same extent, having already in place a great deal of the regulations that Obama established, all of which Romney has claimed he's going to repeal. Obama care is not exactly the greatest solution to reducing health care cost, in fact I'd almost go so far as to say it's pretty darn terrible, but it's about all that could be done given the existing system, assuming something needed done at all, without tearing the whole thing down and rebuilding it. But to say that the Canadian system (and the various systems in other countries) doesn't work properly is simply ignorant. It works as well as intended. I know this because, as you point out, I live here, not there. It may not be "perfect", but then nothing involving more than one person ever will be from everyone's perspective. Trillions of dollars were spent fighting wars left behind by previous president(s) that Obama took great strides in ending, and anyone with any knowledge of economics will tell you that the quickest way out of a recession is by government spending. Libya was and is ridiculous, as are/were Afghanistan and Iraq, and Syria and Iran likely will be. The US did much better when foreign policy was to keep it foreign. If anything happens to you that warrants a response, you can blow pretty much anyone off the planet. Being preemptive will just make people hate you. But that's not partisan, it applies to both parties Hurricane Sandy didn't exist as anything, really, more than a week before it hit New Jersey, so telling people to GTFO was about all that could be done, and blaming anyone for hurricane damage in a place hurricanes don't really happen is a little ridiculous, too. Yeah, maybe I don't live in the States, but that doesn't mean I can't keep track of what's going on on a national level. But as mostly an observer, I've made my observations. Do what you will with them. I'm not going to be able to sway you or anyone and have no intention of doing so, and really have no desire to start a political war. I know things are very sensitive in that area. I'm not sure which of these new candidates I'd support, Comanche County's MJ or Odin. I'm partial to viking gods, though. JeepcoMJ
there has been no economic recovery. in fact, unemployment rates are higher than ever. Obamacare and every single other idea that BO has put in place are NOT in the interest of the american people, in my and many other's opinion As far as the hurricane goes, he tried to make himself look good by making untruthful statements that we were prepared, that it was anticipated, that he had it under control....in an attempt to grasp at straws for fear of looking like Bush during Katrina....then he left for more campaigning, instead of doing his job and dealing with the problem at hand. Knowledge of economics also says that you don't borrow more money than you can possibly pay back in reasonable time, then literally throw it out the window with failure upon failure. GM shouldn't have been bailed out...I'm sorry, but they had (and were exploring) private options to solve their dilemma. sink or swim...not take handouts then pay out the highest bonuses to your higher ups in company history. J. Edgar Hoover CREATED JOBS by coming up with things that needed to be done, that the average joe was capable of. likewise with Regan. Obama has outspent the cumulative combined total dollars of every single U.S. president in history...combined. He will go down in history as the worst president in our nations history. That said, Romney could end up in the same boat. But I'm done giving second chances to the scum of the earth.
Keyav8r
Took about an hour. For some reason the I to O line was about seventeen times longer than the rest and also moved slower. Jim - unfortunately J.D. is dead or I would have written him in. Don - I ain't very smart, but I think I'm smart enough to figure that one out. Sir Sam - you need to copyright that sign before everybody else copies it. I already have. Relyt120 - you may be right. I've heard that its impolite to talk about politicians or prostitutes - darn, I'm being redundant again.

Comanche County
Please don't let Obama beat my MJ. My MJ has done more for this country than he has just by providing transportation for me. After 3 years in Iraq, loss of my right leg, and still no VA compensation after two years of appeals and four congressional inquiries, don't let that guy beat my Jeep! Edit: The last states just came in,,,, looks like its too late....me and my MJ are going down to the local pub to drink away our sorrows.
HOrnbrod
Yeah, it's freaking over. Mostly due to the to the Rust Belt states, NY, PA, and the New England states, and of course Cali and the rest of the PAC states. Looks like a rerun of 2008. Ah well, now we have to live with it..............
