codymanche
thanks man. i got it from a guy who custom made it for a datsun or something small like that and we just added a plate to the bottom of it and mounted it it was like 1-2in short on each side. with the plate perfect fit and then used square bumper bolts to mount it. its not coming off anytime soon lol. the led lights are for semi trucks they were expensive tho. the brackets i used came with 2 yellow lights for each bracket and i bought the red individually and changed them out. I'm still going to put led red running lights on the back on the support arms. and led yellow on the side.
cody4359
looks good, but imo u should pain the engine compartment since the motor is out. I'm a bit if a detail freak tho. how did your rocky road brackets fit? i had them on my xj and the quality wasnt that great. where the bracket and brace bolt together there was a big gap. needed to make shims so they would tighten up together right. also with the 6" lift and 33"s do u need the fenders trimmed?? codymanche
haha yea but i really don't want to take all the stuff out and redo all that stuff you know. i believe in if it aint broke don't mess with it. every time i do touch something it breaks when it wasnt broke in the first place. that my luck haha. well my shims went in and filled the gap. and suspension wise it doesnt seem bad not soft or hard. umm i don't know about having the fenders trimmed with the lift but i cut them before and with me parking on some ones tires i would recommend it for more flex. tho when i do i have cut the tire but never popped so u need to find out how much u have and trim so you don't cut your tire. i did the motor and lift at the same time. so how the suspension is i don't know yet havent got the motor back yet. i need a new head for the motor. 4.0l I6 1987-1990 (if anyone wants to know). so thats as far as i got. one day i will do the whole truck like u said cuz it does bother me a lil. i want a cowl hood tho and possible a 97 front head panel. cody4359
i got a cheap 97+ header on ebay for $40 composite plastic or sumthin. then i got a real one, like $220 with lights ect. they both fit nearly the same but the ebay one didnt have the threaded inserts for the grill. they were either square or round i forget but they were diff then my mj inserts. havent checked the 97+ to see if they just changed design of the inserts. cowls hoods are badass but being a penny pincher i can't justify pain $400-500 for a darn hood. ive seen a few places that alabama cylinder head makes really food heads, theyre $500 tho. you get what you pay for somtimes. by the way thats a cool name you have
codymanche
well if anything i regret doing is i should found a cherokee with the 91 newer 4.0 high output and then bore that one out. and i need lights and everything harness and all but really don't want to spend a pretty penny like u said and the hood would be bad @$$. maybe after deployment. ill get one and add a couple of scoops we'll see how much money i got haha. i live in az so alabama is a long way from az. it would be more to pay just to get it sent when i could go to autozone and get one for 450 something you know. cody4359
oh ya i understand lol but maybe compare prices, the alabama head is gusseted where the stock one crack and i think they come with some of the valvetrain, just me but id pay an extra 50 to 100 for a quality part for sumthing important. and you could use the old wiring harness just find and swap out the blinker and parking light connectors. itd be a little work but either way you have to mess with wiring
